The Pittsburgh Steelers could consider signing SS Troy Polamalu to a contract extension in order to reduce his salary cap figure for 2014. He is scheduled to have a 2014 salary cap figure of just under $10.9 million.
Pittsburgh needs to get under the cap someway, and reconfiguring Polamalu's contract would be a good first step. They need to have room if they are planning on signing both Jason Worilds and LaMarr Woodley to maintain their LB crew.
