FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

Broncos LB Von Miller pleaded guilty to minor traffic violations Thursday. All other charges against Miller were dropped. He completed community service and a driver's course before entering his pleas.

Miller wrecks offenses on the field, and he's trying not to wreck his own life off it. A dynamic playmaker, Miller can be an IDP beast if his head is on straight. ANALYST: Ray Flowers

Jonathan Lucroy’s fractured left big toe is expected to keep him out four to six weeks.

This is obviously a tough blow for the Brewers, as the team has already been struggling to score runs and will now be without Lucroy for an extended period. Expect Martin Maldonado to see most of the time behind the plate in Lucroy's absence.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Tom Wilhelmsen (hyperextended elbow) is cleared to throw starting Friday and will throw a bullpen session during the next road trip.

A couple years back Wilhelmsen was must-own closer in terms of fantasy value, but has since performed well in various roles for the Mariners. It looks as if a return by the end of April is possible, but Wilhelmsen merits little fantasy consideration outside of deeper A.L. only leagues. Analysis: Nate Miller

Ichiro Suzuki is now in the Marlins starting lineup on Tuesday.

Ichiro will fill in for Christian Yelich in left field Tuesday night, as the latter is out for the third time over the past seven games due to lingering back issues. Ichiro will bat sixth for the Marlins against Phillies' right-hander Jerome Williams. Analysis: Nate Miller

Christian Yelich was scratched Tuesday with lower back tightness.

Yelich's back continues to be an issue, as the young outfielder will be out of the Marlins' starting lineup for the third time in the last seven games. Ichiro Suzuki will take his place in left fielder Tuesday night. Analysis: Nate Miller

Update: Corey Dickerson (foot) says he expects to play within the next few days.

Dickerson is just 1-for-17 over the past five games, and Manager Waltt Weiss made it known after Monday's game that the young outfielder is dealing with "mild" plantar fasciitis. This is obviously not what fantasy owners want to hear, as this ailment has hindered the production of many athletes over recent years. This is a positive development, but this issue could linger throughout the summer. Analysis: Nate Miller

Update: Manager Chip Hale says Jake Lamb (stress reaction) could be back in two-three weeks.

This is certainly a tough blow for the Diamondbacks, as their young third baseman has gotten off to a sensational start. However, this does open the door for Yasmany Tomas to take over at the hot corner.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Carl Crawford is in the Dodgers starting lineup on Tuesday.

Due to a stomach virus, Crawford has not played since this past Friday. The veteran outfielder will bat sixth versus the Giants' Tim Lincecum on Tuesday night. Analysis: Nate Miller

Yasiel Puig is in the Dodgers starting lineup on Tuesday.

Puig has missed four of the past five games due to his hamstring issue, but will be back in right field and bat second Tuesday night versus the Giants' Tim Lincecum. Analysis: Nate Miller

Jerrell Freeman did not show Monday for voluntary offseason workouts.

Still an unsigned, restricted free agent, Freeman is apparently in search of a new contract from the Colts. The 28-year-old linebacker racked up 95 total tackles across 12 games last season. Analysis: Nate Miller

Brandon Beachy (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday.

The question remains the same for Beachy, will he be able to regain his front-line form following two Tommy John procedures. That question could be answered as early as June if the 28-year-old hurler continues to progress with no setbacks. Analysis: Nate Miller

Kenley Jansen (foot) is throwing another bullpen session on Tuesday.

Jansen continues to progress towards a return to the Dodgers' closer role. It appears that he is still in line to be back by mid-May, and when he does, the big righty should become a steady source of saves an strikeouts once again.  Analysis: Nate Miller
