Paul Pierce is at shoot around this morning after missing practice with an illness yesterday.

Xavier Su'a-Filo is the leading candidate to start at left guard next season.

Su'a-Filo made 13 appearance in 2014, but only started one game. He showed a ton of growth last year and will look to make the next step forward next season. Analysis: David Kerr

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau is unsure if Derrick Rose (knee) will be cleared for full contact Monday.

Rose continues to battle back from a torn meniscus and the Bulls are hoping he will be able to return by the end of the regular season. Chicago only has eight games left on their slate, so even if Rose doesn't make it back by then, he should be ready by the first round of the playoffs. At this point in time, the Bulls would be the three seed and face Milwaukee in the first round of the playoffs. Analysis: David Kerr

There is a report from Venezuela that Mariners pitching prospect Victor Sanchez has died. There is no confirmation yet from the club.

This is disheartening news, but nothing has been one-percent confirmed. We won't delve into this report until we have more concrete information. Analysis: David Kerr

Jake Arrieta shut the Rockies out for four innings on Saturday.

Arrieta had average numbers prior to Saturday's spring training start, but his start against the Rockies showed that he is ready to go. On paper, he isn't the Cubs' ace this season, but he certainly emerged as one of the better starters in the National League. Take Arrieta as a solid number two starter in your fantasy drafts over the next week. Analysis: David Kerr

C.J. Anderson will be the Broncos starting running back entering offseason workouts.

The Broncos have three legitimate starting running backs in Anderson, Montee Ball, and Ronnie Hillman. Given Anderson's success in the latter part of the 2014 season though, it is no surprise that Denver views him as their lead back. He should fit in well to Gary Kubiak's offensive scheme and will vault up fantasy draft boards this summer. Anderson picked up a lot of slack last year while Peyton Manning dealt with a shoulder injury and should be a strong RB1 option this year. Analysis: David Kerr

Danilo Gallinari (rest) will not play Saturday against the Trail Blazers.

The Nuggets are out of playoff contention and Gallinari could use a day off, so the team is using Saturday night as an opportunity to get him some rest. Gallinari is just three games removed from dropping 40 points, so he clearly has a ton of fantasy value. Expect him back in the lineup on Wednesday against the Jazz. Analysis: David Kerr

Dellin Betances surrendered another run in his inning of work on Saturday. Betances has now given up a run in five of his seven appearances.

Once again, this does not bode well for Betances' chances to begin the season as the Yankees' closer. Betances has not looked very good in spring training and his velocity is down four-to-six miles per hour from what it was last year. While Betances has been penciled in as New York's closer, it seems increasing likely that Andrew Miller will get the opportunity to fill the role early on. This is an intriguing situation because the Yankees haven't committed to a closer this season, so both Betances and Miller are both must draft relievers over the next week. Analysis: David Kerr

Update: Brandon Rush has returned to the game.

This is updating an early report that Rush left Saturday's game due to an eye contusion. Rush rarely sees court time, so even though he has returned, his fantasy value is nonexistent. Analysis: David Kerr

Steven Adams is headed to the locker room with an apparent injury.

No word as to why is ailing Adams, but we should have an update soon. Adams' status for the remainder of Saturday's game is currently unknown. Analysis: David Kerr

J.J. Barea (sprained ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against Indiana.

Barea has missed the Mavericks' last three games, but is hoping to return on Sunday. He has done well in a reserve role for Dallas and should be able to reach his usual 17 minutes if he's active. Analysis: David Kerr

Brandon Rush suffered a right eye contusion and his return is questionable.

Rush is only averaging 7.9 minutes over 29 games this season, so this injury has zero fantasy impact. Saturday's game against the Bucks only had a five point spread, so it is unlikely that Rush would have seen very many minutes anyway. Analysis: David Kerr

Shawn Tolleson (right forearm) is planning on pitching against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Tolleson is dealing with a right forearm injury, but recovery has gone very well recently and if his appearance on Sunday against the Dodgers goes well, he could be ready for opening day.  Analysis: Ben Diamond

J.J. Hickson is in the Nuggets starting lineup on Saturday.

Hickson should see an increase in minutes with the start, and though he isn't primed for a huge game, he should offer modest production in fantasy. Analysis: Ben Diamond
