FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

Redskins TE Fred Davis, a pending free agent with a history of failed drug tests, now faces a 6-game suspension according to a league source.

Kyle Kendrick allowed six runs on six hits while striking out two over five innings during the Rockies' 8-6 loss to the Padres on Sunday.

The Rockies' opening day starter had yet another brutal outing Sunday. His ERA now sits at a turgid 8.63 and he's allowing more than 2 and a half home runs per nine. He's an ideal pitcher to stack your hitters against in DFS. Analysis: Spencer Silva

Yovani Gallardo allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out one and walking four over 6 2/3 inning during the Rangers' 7-1 loss to the Athletics on Sunday.

Gallardo held the Athletics scoreless for four innings before the amazing Stephen Vogt took him deep in the fifth inning. Gallardo has, in essence, been the same ol' Yovani in 2015. He's seen an uptick in strikeouts, but that was influenced by an outing against the Astros. Without the vintage zip on his fastball, Gallardo is a meh fantasy option. Analysis: Spencer Silva

Stephen Vogt went 2-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI, two runs scored and two walks during the Athletics' 7-1 win over the Rangers on Sunday.

Vogt has not only been one of the league's best catchers to date, he's been one of the league's best players. In fact, his 1.4 fWAR in 2015 matches his total in 84 games last season. Don't expect him to keep it up, but feel free to ride the wave. He's slashing .356/.455/.671 with six home runs. Analysis: Spencer Silva

Josh Reddick went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk during the Athletics' 7-1 win over the Rangers on Sunday.

Reddick is on a helluva heater, hitting .435 with a double, a triple, two home runs, 11 RBI and two stolen bases over the last week. What's most impressive is Reddick is striking out a microscopic 6.9% for the season. If he continues to make prolific contact, he'll carry plenty of value in mixed leagues.  Analysis: Spencer Silva

Sonny Gray allowed no runs on two hits, striking out 10 and walking seven over 6 2/3 innings during the Athletics' 7-1 win over the Rangers on Sunday.

It was kind of a bizarre, yet brilliant outing for Gray. The seven walks he issued were a career high, but he still managed to blank the Rangers for nearly seven innings. He's owned the Rangers for his young career — He's now 3-0 with a 0.36 ERA in Arlington.  Analysis: Spencer Silva

The Athletics have released Cody Ross after being designated for assignment.

Ross only had two at-bats while in Oakland, but is now free to look elsewhere for a job. He has not been healthy the past couple of seasons, but even when he has been, Ross' impact has been minimal. He should not be effecting your fantasy team with the release, nor should he be impacting it if he is picked up as it looks like the ship has finally sailed on his career. Analysis: Rob Trayah
