UPDATES & NEWS
Updated: Prior to Thursday's game against Miami, Lakers guard Kobe Bryant told reporters that he will see a doctor in the first week of February, Yahoo! Sports reports. It was originally announced by the team that Bryant would be re-evaluated at the end of the team's current road trip on Monday or Tuesday of next week.
Bryant is still on track for a return at some point in February, and could even return prior to the All-Star Game, but he will not participate if that was the case. The return of Bryant is going to have an impact on the plethora of Laker guards that have been filling the void, so fantasy owners should enjoy the added fantasy value while it lasts. The Indians recalled Danny Salazar from Triple-A Columbus Saturday.
The expected move was announced Thursday after the Tribe felt they needed to push Carlos Carrasco (head/jaw) back to Monday. Salazar was dominant in his one Triple-A start, and as Fantasy Alarm's Brad Costilo noted earlier in the week, Salazar was very solid in his final 12 starts [of 2014], limiting opposing hitters to a .255 average/.668 OPS while striking out 1/4 of the batters he faced.
