Fantasy Player Updates & News  2016 MLB Draft Guide Is Here!

Coach Pete Carroll said Percy Harvin (head) will not play Sunday.

James Michael McAdoo (toe) will not play on Wednesday.

McAdoo has yet to play in the new year but even when healthy the forward was seeing just 5.9 minutes per game so there is no real fantasy impact here with his absence. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Jon Beason has retired from football.

Beason has dealt with a variety of injuries throughout his career and appeared in just nine games over the last two seasons. In fact, he's only appeared in 29 games since 2011. The Giants need to get younger, faster and stronger up the middle on defense, so Beason's departure isn't going to hurt too much. Look for the Giants to address their linebacker corps in both free agency and the draft. Analysis: Howard Bender

Dannell Ellerbe has restructured his contract to stay with the Saints.

The 30-year old reserve linebacker signed a five-year $35 million deal in 2015 and the Saints simply have too many holes to fill right now to allow him to stay at his current salary. Kudos to him for being a team player and you can expect to see him supporting the defensive starters throughout the year. Analysis: Howard Bender

Colts are likely to release Andre Johnson this offseason.

Johnson entered the 2015 season with great expectations that he would thrive in the Colts pass first offense with quarterback Andrew Luck but unfortunately the Colts offense struggled and Andrew Luck missed the majority of the season. Johnson was finished the season with 41 catches for 503 yards and four touchdowns as he saw himself passed on the depth chart by Donte Moncrief. At 34 years old Johnson will likely only be seeing short term deals once he hits free agency as some teams hope he has some gas left in the tank. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Giants have released Will Beatty on Wednesday.

Beatty was the Giants starting tackle from 2011-2014 but missed all of 2015 due to injury. The veteran offensive linemen should have little trouble hooking onto another team assuming he has fully recovered from shoulder surgery. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Dale Thayer has signed a minor league contract with the Orioles.

Thayer appeared in 38 games for the Padres last season, going 2-2 with a 4.06 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP over 37.2 innings. Thayer has a track record of being a strong reliever during his time with the Padres and will compete for a bullpen spot with Baltimore during Spring Training. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

An arrest warrant for LeSean McCoy will be issued on Wednesday or Thursday.

There was an incident late night/early morning incident over the weekend in Philadelphia where McCoy and a friend were allegedly involved in a physical altercation with two police officers. No arrests were made at the time and both officers ended up at the hospital to be treated for undisclosed injuries. Witnesses put McCoy at the scene and involved, so the warrant will be easily executed. How this will affect McCoy's status next season is not yet known as the league will likely wait until legal proceedings are complete before taking additional action.  Analysis: Howard Bender

Terrence Jones will not play Wednesday.

Terrence Jones still has to clear the league's concussion protocol before he can return to the line-up, but his value is nil until he is traded. He will likely be out until after the All-Star break, so he can be left on the waiver-wire. Analysis: Mike Cahill

Tony Parker (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday.

During Tuesday's game, Tony Parker injured his ankle, but continued to play through the injury. It would not be surprising to see Tony Parker out for Wednesday's game against a bad Magic team. Look for Patty Mills to start if Parker is out and he is worth a start as he has been playing well of late. There is a chance at a blow-out though, so Ray McCallum could get some garbage time. Analysis: Mike Cahill

Tim Duncan will play Wednesday.

After missing games since January 22nd, Tim Duncan will finally make an appearance in the Spurs' line-up. He will likely only get around 20 minutes because the Spurs can't push his knees too much. David West will find his way back to the bench where he belongs. It would be risky starting Duncan in his first game back in over a month. Unless you have to, it would be better to see how his work-load is handled on Wednesday. Analysis: Mike Cahill

The Phillies have acquired INF Taylor Featherston.

The INF was just designated for assignment last week by the Angels after they picked up Christian Friedrich from waivers. Taylor Featherston was a pick in the Rule 5 draft last season and had 169 at-bats with the Angels, but did not do so well. He finished the year with a .162 average with nine RBIs, two HRs, seven BB, and and 46 Ks. Obviously he showed Phillies general manager Matt Klentak something he liked, because he was the assistant GM with the Angels last season. Featherston is a very good defensive player and if he can get his hitting up, he could work his way to the majors.  Analysis: Mike Cahill
