Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez has been suspended 162 games plus the postseason.
This was actually a reduced suspension and there are still questions regarding his ability to play in the 2014 post-season. Regardless, Rodriguez will appeal the ruling in federal court now and this whole nightmarish situation will continue to hover like a storm cloud until final decisions are made. And let's face it, who knows when that will be?ANALYST: Howard Bender
Redskins Coach Jay Gruden said this week that he intends to get Pierre Garçon’s numbers “back up” in 2015.
The Redskins are a mess, so this is clearly lip service. Garçon is a fine wide receiver, but to think that his numbers will rise with questions surrounding Washington's quarterback situation are a bit far fetched. The veteran wideout saw 45 less receptions and 594 fewer yards last year than he did in 2013, so to think that his numbers will increase next year is a bit preposterous. View him as a WR3 for now, but Garçon has the ability to be much more if the Redskins can develop some chemistry on offense. Analysis: David Kerr
Jake Arrieta shut the Rockies out for four innings on Saturday.
Arrieta had average numbers prior to Saturday's spring training start, but his start against the Rockies showed that he is ready to go. On paper, he isn't the Cubs' ace this season, but he certainly emerged as one of the better starters in the National League. Take Arrieta as a solid number two starter in your fantasy drafts over the next week. Analysis: David Kerr
C.J. Anderson will be the Broncos starting running back entering offseason workouts.
The Broncos have three legitimate starting running backs in Anderson, Montee Ball, and Ronnie Hillman. Given Anderson's success in the latter part of the 2014 season though, it is no surprise that Denver views him as their lead back. He should fit in well to Gary Kubiak's offensive scheme and will vault up fantasy draft boards this summer. Anderson picked up a lot of slack last year while Peyton Manning dealt with a shoulder injury and should be a strong RB1 option this year. Analysis: David Kerr
