Fantasy Player Updates & News  2016 MLB Draft Guide Is Here!

Coach Mike D’Antoni said after shootaround in preparation for Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers that Kobe Bryant (fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in his left knee) and Steve Nash (nerve root irritation in his back and hamstrings) will be re-evaluated Jan. 27, when the Lakers return to L.A. after an upcoming 12-day, seven-game trip.

Buccaneers are expected to retain LG Logan Mankins.

If Mankins doesn't return to the Bucs, it's likely he'll retire. The 34-year old can still get the job done and would be great to have in the locker room for the young Tampa team. Analysis: James Grande

Aaron Rodgers said his knee feels great less than a month after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.

Rodgers was seen playing in the PGA tour Pro-Am so his knee must be feeling better. Rodgers said it wasn't an injury that he picked up at a particular moment of the season, it was just to clean up a past injury. Rodgers will head into next year with a lot healthier receiving core than he had this year. The Packers should once again be contenders in the NFC. Analysis: James Grande

Head coach Gus Bradley hopes the Jaguars will be able to re-sign impending free-agent TE Marcedes Lewis.

Lewis has spent his entire 10-year career with the Jaguars up to this point. Lewis' best year was 2010 when he posted career-highs in catches (58), receiving yards (700) and touchdowns (10). He's nothing more than a backup, blocking TE nowadays.  Analysis: James Grande

Phillies sent Bobby LaFromboise outright to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

In the 11 appearences LaFromboise made with the Pirates in 2015, he was great. He only allowed one run in eight innings. It's such a small sample size so he's not a very reliable pitcher, hence why he was sent back to Triple-A. Analysis: James Grande

Orioles signed free agent P Ashur Tolliver to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Tolliver had arguably his best season as a professional in 2016 for the Orioles double-A affiliate. He pitched to a 2.91 ERA in 39 appearances. Tolliver's whole professional career has been spent with the Orioles and will get a chance to make the team out of spring training. Analysis: James Grande

Broncos signed Zaire Anderson, Kapri Bibbs, Dillon Day, Cameron Jefferson, Nick Kasa, Ryan Murphy, Kyle Roberts, George Uko and Jordan Taylor to Reserve/Futures contracts.

The Super Bowl champions have pretty much signed their practice squad for next year. They signed 10 players on Saturday that will all have to do some spectacular stuff during the preseason if they want to make the 53-man roster. Analysis: James Grande

Scott Snodgress signed a minor league deal with the Padres.

It's surprising Snodgrass was able to get a job after his 2015 campaign. He appeared in 24 games for the Salt Lake City Bees and posted 11.16 ERA. Yes, you read that correctly. Why did the manager continue to run him out there if he never recorded outs?  Analysis: James Grande

Kevin Johnson said he played eight games this season with a fractured foot.

The first-round pick from this year had a solid rookie season and it may have been even better if he didn't play eight games with a broken foot. He played every game and made 54 tackles, had one interception and nine pass deflections. Analysis: James Grande

Jordan Cameron is likely to be released if he doesn't accept a pay cut this offseason.

Cameron is due $7.5M in 2016 and isn't worth nearly that much. If they completely parted ways with him instead of just having him take a pay cut, they'll save the entire $7.5M. Cameron had 35 receptions for 388 yards and three touchdowns in his first season with the Dolphins. Analysis: James Grande

Dolphins will restructure the contract of Ndamukong Suh this offseason.

With or without Suh's consent, the Dolphins will restructure his contract to help themselves get back under the salary cap. Suh was no where near worth the amount of money he made last season, so he needs to have a bounce back 2016. Analysis: James Grande

Matt Cain is finally healthy and ready to be in the Giants rotation.

The three-time all-star is finally healthy. He hasn't been able to start more than 15 games in each of the last two seasons. If Cain can get back to the level he was pitching at during the 2012 season, the Giants will have a lethal rotation. Don't forget, they've won the World Series three straight even years. By our calculations after carrying the two -- it's an even year. Cain is a key compenent to the Giants success this year. Analysis: James Grande

Padres will likely not look to trade James Shields until the trade deadline.

Although Shields had a good record during his first year in San Diego, he was very pedestrian. His ERA was just below 4.00 at 3.91 and posted a below average 1.33 WHIP. After a season like that, his trade value can't be very high. San Diego's main strategy is likely to hope Shields pitches well enough to bolster his value. His contract is also going to be hard to move if he's not pitching like a top flight pitcher by the time the trade deadline rolls around. Analysis: James Grande

Jimmer Fredette has won the D-League All-Star game MVP with 35 points.

The former BYU star has lit the D-League on fire and continued doing just that in Saturday's All-Star game. He's averaged 22.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.7 steals while hitting 48-percent of his shots, 42-percent from beyond the arc and 91-percent from the foul line. It is only a matter of time before he gets a call back to the NBA. Analysis: James Grande
