Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe today underwent successful arthroscopic surgery involving meniscus cartilage in his right knee, the team has announced. The surgery was performed in Phoenix by renowned Suns team doctor and knee surgeon Thomas Carter. Bledsoe will immediately begin a recovery and rehabilitation program and will pursue a possible return to action during the second half of this NBA season.

Browns head coach Mike Pettine says Dwayne Bowe in no danger of being cut.

Bowe was playing on Thursday night, so it seems possible that he could be cut, but we'll take Pettine at his word. Assuming Bowe remains with the team after Saturday, he will be a reserve at wide receiver. His fantasy value is limited to the deepest of leagues. Analysis: David Kerr

Caleb Thielbar cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A El Paso on Thursday.

Thielbar was placed on waivers at the end of August by San Diego and had no problem floating through. He'll head to Triple-A, but still has an outside shot of rejoining the big league club in the latter part of September. Analysis: David Kerr

Senorise Perry said there's ligament damage in his left foot/ankle.

Perry has already been placed on injured reserve, so his season is over. He will likely undergo surgery to repair the ligament damage in his foot. Analysis: David Kerr

Garrett Gilkey suffered a knee injury on Thursday.

Gilkey is set to start at right guard for the Bucs, so if this injury is significant, it could be a huge blow. He will be reevaluated and we should have an update on his status on Friday. Analysis: David Kerr

Erik Johnson will start Sunday's game for the White Sox.

In an effort to give Chris Sale an extra day of rest, the White Sox will start Erik Johnson on Sunday. Johnson has earned the start, posting a 2.37 ERA with 136 strikeouts over 132 2/3 innings pitched. If he fares well, he'll likely stick around. Analysis: David Kerr

Shawn Kelley (forearm) is expected to miss two or three more days.

Kelley has been bothered by a nerve issue in his forearm and it isn't completely healed. San Diego is hoping to have him back some time next week. Analysis: David Kerr

Tom Savage has gone for X-rays on his shoulder.

Savage is slated to begin the season as Houston's third-string quarterback, but didn't finish Thursday's game unscathed. His shoulder will undergo X-rays and he'll be reevaluated on Friday. Analysis: David Kerr

Josh Johnson (elbow) will pitch one inning for High-A Lake Elsinore on Friday.

We are talking about Josh Johnson, so until he's actually pitching in the majors, we'll assume he will have some type of setback. It's possible that he'll log some innings for the Padres this season, but next year seems more likely. Analysis: David Kerr

Brent Jones said he believes he just sprained his right knee, but he will have all the usual tests done Friday.

This would be the best case scenario for the Giants. Assuming that he just suffered a minor sprain, Jones still has the opportunity to make the Giants' final 53-man roster. Analysis: David Kerr

Corey Dickerson (ribs) began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.

It's been a lost season for Dickerson, first with a foot injury and then a rib issue. He's going to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A and should return to the Rockies soon thereafter. Don't expect him to start everyday, but he should be on the field more often than not down the stretch. Analysis: David Kerr

Browns head coach Mike Pettine said RB Isaiah Crowell has edge for starting job over Terrance West.

This isn't a huge shock as Crowell emerged as the top running back in Cleveland's backfield last season. The Browns figure to run the ball a lot, so Crowell should prove to be a solid RB3 in all formats. Analysis: David Kerr

Richard Gordon just left the field limping to the locker room.

It appears as though Gordon suffered some type of league injury, but it isn't clear at this point. We will have an update on his status soon. Analysis: David Kerr

Christian Vazquez (elbow) will report to the Florida Instructional League on September 14 to get at-bats.

Vazquez continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery and will finish out his season in Florida. He is a candidate to be the starting catcher for Boston as soon as Opening Day next year and should be stashed away in dynasty leagues. Analysis: David Kerr

Breshad Perriman caught passes from WR coach Bobby Engram on Thursday. He was making a few moves but not running at all.

Perriman continues to be dogged by a knee injury. He is a big part of the Ravens' future plans, but his status for Week 1 is now in question. You can avoid him in redraft leagues for now, but he should be owned in all dynasty formats. Analysis: David Kerr
