Fantasy Player Updates & News  All You Need to Make Winning Lineups!

Ender Inciarte went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a pair of walks against the Cardinals on Thursday.

Inciarte has been solid for the Diamondbacks all season, as he is now slashing .298/.332/.397 with four home runs, 36 RBI, 58 runs scored and 13 steals through 403 at-bats. Considering his ability to get on base at a high clip, Inciarte will likely be atop the Diamondbacks lineup for years to come, but he will have to work on his walk rate (19 BB) before gaining lasting fantasy value outside of deep league formats.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Rubby De La Rosa surrendered five runs on five hits and four walks while striking out four batters over five innings against the Cardinals on Thursday.

After allowing only three runs over his previous two starts, De La Rosa took a step backwards on Thursday night as he allowed a nine game-high five runs. He is now sitting 11-6 with a 4.46 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 129:50 K:BB rate through 26 starts, but will need to work on both his walks and home runs allowed (27 HR) before becoming a complimentary piece outside of deep league formats. De La Rosa will try to get himself back on track when he takes on the Rockies on Tuesday.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Trevor Rosenthal worked in and out of trouble to earn his 41st save of the season against the Diamondbacks on Thursday

Pitching for the third time in four days Rosenthal was able to record his league-leading 41st save Thursday night in the Cardinals victory. Considering his usage of late, fantasy owners should not expect him to pitch on Friday night barring an extreme circumstance.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Carlos Martinez allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six batters over six innings against the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Martinez is now sitting 13-6 with a 2.91 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 156:54 K:BB rate through 154 2/3 innings as he continues thrive in his first full season in the Cardinals starting rotation. Although he has fallen off slightly in the month of August (4.15 ERA), he is still a must-start in all fantasy formats as long as his strikeout rate remains consistent down the stretch. He will try to earns win No. 14 when he takes on the Nationals on Tuesday.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Tony Cruz went 1-for-4 connecting on his first home run of the season against the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Cruz was filling in for Yadier Molina, who was given the night off on Thursday, and was able to contribute to the cause in the Cardinals victory. However, there is no reason to monitor his production considering he has just 83 at-bats on the season.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Brandon Moss went 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBI and one run scored against the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Moss managed to connect on his first home run since being dealt to the Cardinals as he continues to see limited playing time since his move prior to the trade deadline. Unless this performance sparks a power surge, there is no reason he should be rostered outside of NL-only leagues.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Jose Abreu went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI and one run scored against the Mariners on Thursday.

Abreu continues to be the most reliable bat in the White Sox lineup as he is now slashing .296/.353/.517 with 24 home runs, 78 RBI an 75 runs scored through 476 at-bats. Although it is highly unlikely he tops last season's power production, he is still having a solid enough sophomore campaign to make him one of the better first baseman to own this year and beyond. Analysis: Matthew Beck

Avisail Garcia went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI against the Mariners on Thursday.

Garcia is now slashing .274/.333/.453 with four home runs, 16 RBI and 17 runs through 95 August at-bats as he continues to show consistency down the stretch. Barring a serious injury, Garcia is worth owning in all but the shallowest of formats at this time.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

David Robertson earned his 27th save after pitching a scoreless ninth inning against the Mariners on Thursday.

Robertson has now converted four consecutive save since blowing his sixth save back on August 12 as he continues to be a reliable ninth inning source in his first year with the White Sox. Considering he has now logged 27 saves to go with a 2.70 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and a 68:11 K:BB rate through 50 innings, Robertson has more than earned the big contract he signed last winter. Analysis: Matthew Beck

Carlos Rodon allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out five batters over six innings against the Mariners on Thursday.

Rodon continues to show promise own the stretch as he has now allowed two runs or less in each of his last four starts while sitting 2-1 with a 2.48 ERA in the month of August. Clearly August has been his best month of the season, but fantasy owners will want to monitor him down the stretch as an inning restriction may be on the horizon with the White Sox out of the playoff picture. He will look to keep up the pace when he takes on the Twins on Wednesday.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Roenis Elias allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits and no walks while striking out three batters over 6 2/3 innings against the White Sox on Thursday.

Elias struggled to get things going on Thursday night as he fell to 4-7 with a 4.20 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP through 14 starts. Despite still being in the prime of his career, it is difficult to imagine he will ever become a fantasy stud based on what he has provided over his first two seasons in the big leagues. He will try to get back on track when he takes on the Astros on Tuesday.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Franklin Gutierrez went 1-for-3 connecting on his ninth home run with a pair of RBI against the White Sox on Thursday.

Gutierrez has now homered in back-to-back games for the Mariners, as he continues to try and rebuild his big league career. He is slashing .300/.345/.627 with nine home runs, 27 RBI and 15 runs scored through 110 at-bats, so until he cools off he makes for a solid deep league add at this time.  Analysis: Matthew Beck
