Fantasy Player Updates & News  Rankings, Systems and O-Lines!

Aaron Rodgers (shoulder) took the usual starter reps during the open portion of practice.

Robert Ayers suffered a pregame ankle injury and will not play on Saturday.

No word yet on the severity but Ayers will have tests run to determine. Consider him day-to-day for now but expect the Giants to update his condition shortly. Analysis: Howard Bender

Colts rookie Phillip Dorsett (knee) will not play Saturday night.

The speedster is still day-to-day with a knee contusion, so he'll sit for Saturday but should be able to return to practice this week and play in the team's final preseason game. Analysis: Howard Bender

Vick Ballard (hamstring) will not play for the Colts on Saturday.

Ballard continues to recover from his hamstring injury and the Colts are not going to take any chances with him. He is still expected to be ready for the regular season. Analysis: Howard Bender

Update: Emmanuel Acho has not been waived just yet. he is still on the Eagles roster.

There was talk that Acho didn't make the cut but apparently reports were erroneous. That's not to say that he will make the team, but for now, he hasn't been cut. Analysis: Howard Bender

Ravens rookie Maxx Williams is unlikely to play on Saturday night.

Williams spent all week in a red non-contact jersey, though the Ravens haven't disclosed what the nature of the injury is. His absence from Saturdays' action may be a detriment to his place on the depth chart. Analysis: Howard Bender

Morris Claiborne will make his 2015 debut for the Cowboys on Saturday night.

Claiborne was held out of the first two preseason games as he continues to recover from a torn Achilles suffered last year. He'll start getting his game work in now as the Cowboys look to him to pick up the slack caused by Orlando Scandrick's torn ACL. Claiborne is expected to be the new starting corner on the right side. Analysis: Howard Bender

Marcus Thigpen will not return to Saturday nights game with a lower back injury.

Thigpen will have tests run to determine if there's more than just a muscular issue, but his not returning could be more precautionary than anything. Consider him day-to-day. Analysis: Howard Bender

Kyle Van Noy says his groin is improving and short-term injured reserve will not be needed.

The Lions like hearing that he won't need short-term IR, but that doesn't mean he will be able to return for Week 1. The Lions still haven't disclosed what the injury actually is, but at least he seems to be getting better. Analysis: Howard Bender

Michael Taylor is not in the starting lineup for the Nationals on Saturday.

Taylor is still dealing with a knee contusion after running into the outfield wall Thursday. He sat out Friday as well and should be considered day-to-day. Clint Robinson will get the at-bats while Taylor is out. Analysis: Howard Bender

Yunel Escobar (hand) is not in the starting lineup vs the Marlins on Saturday.

Escobar sat out Friday as well as he continues to deal with hand soreness after being hit by Andrew Cashner on Thursday. X-rays were negative so consider him day-to-day and expect him back after the weekend. Analysis: Howard Bender

Andre Eithier is not in Saturday nights starting lineup for the Dodgers.

Ethier will take a seat with lefty Jon Lester on the hill.Carl Crawford and Scott Van Slyke will handle the corner outfield spots. Analysis: Howard Bender

Yasmani Grandal is not in the Dodgers starting lineup on Saturday.

Grandal had been dealing with a shoulder issue recently, so he'll just be gettiong some extra rest until he's truly back to 100-percent. A.J. Ellis will catch Mat Latos on Saturday. Analysis: Howard Bender
