Coach Mike McCarthy will have a press conference at 1:15 p.m Central time on Wednesday to announce the status of QB Aaron Rodgers.
There has been no official decision made in terms of Rodgers' availability for Week 17, but he was able to practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday. It is highly unlikely that he plays Sunday, considering he has yet to be medically cleared by team doctors, so expect Matt Flynn to start for the Packers in a crucial divisional matchup against the Bears. Jed Lowrie left Monday's game with a thumb injury. He's going back to Houston Tuesday for an MRI.
In all likelihood Jonathan Villar or Marwin Gonzalez will fill in for Lowrie if he misses extended time, but there's an outside chance the first-place Astros call up uber-prospect Carlos Correa for his first major league taste. Correa is murdering the Texas League (Double-A) to the tune of .375/.429/.719 with four home runs and two stolen bases. He's worth a speculative add in competitive leagues until the situation becomes more clear. Astros GM Jeff Luhnow has hinted that he wouldn't be scared to "lift" Correa straight from Double-A at some point. Analysis: Spencer Silva
