Fantasy Player Updates & News

Jordan Farmar will start for the Lakers on Wednesday. Coach Mike D'Antoni plans to play Farmar in short bursts.

Steve Tolleson was unavailable for Wednesday's game due to a tweaked groin.

The Blue Jays have been using Tolleson and Munenori Kawasaki at the keystone since Devon Travis went on the DL, but neither have done much. Tolleson is hitting .268 on the year with three RBI, but this groin injury might keep out of the lineup for the time being. Consider him day-to-day at the moment. Analysis: Colby Conway

Mike Catapano (gastrointestinal virus) was able to participate in the team's OTA on Wednesday.

Catapano dealt with a gastrointestinal virus that discovered in camp last season, then went on injured reserve due to a concussion. After an unhealthy 2014 campaign, Catapano is looking to return to the field this season and make an impact on an already pretty stout Chiefs defense. He has no real value in IDP leagues to begin the season. Analysis: Colby Conway

Shelvin Mack suffered separated right shoulder in Tuesday night's game. He will have surgery next week.

Mack was a backup to starting point guard Jeff Teague and he played pretty well. In roughly 15 minutes per game, he averaged 5.4 points, 2.8 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game. Until he is a regular starter, his fantasy value will remain low. Analysis: Colby Conway

Update: Kyle Korver had surgery to repair ligament damage in his ankle and will be out three months.

Losing Korver was a huge blow to the Hawks and it definitely affected their game plan for the rest of that series with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Korver had a solid year for the Hawks, averaging 12.1 points per game while shooting 49.2 percent from beyond the arc. Korver will continue to be a solid source of threes when he returns next season. Analysis: Colby Conway

Sammy Solis (shoulder inflammation) threw off flat ground on Wednesday.

Solis went on the DL with this inflammation on Friday, retroactive tom 18th. He could return to the team during the first week of June, but that seems rather optimistic at the moment. He was 1-0 with a 5.00 ERA and 1.11 WHIP before going on the DL. He has little fantasy value pitching in a loaded Washington bullpen. Analysis: Colby Conway

Colts signed first-round wide receiver Phillip Dorsett.

Dorsett is known for his excellent speed that he showcased while at the University of Miami. The Indy receiving core is pretty packed, so Dorsett’s expectations for his rookie year should be held in check. Last season for the Hurricanes, he caught 36 passes for 871 yards and 10 touchdowns. He would need an injury or two to become seriously fantasy relevant, seeing that he will be no higher than their number four receiver at the start of this season. Analysis: Colby Conway

Martellus Bennett has not attended any of the team's offseason workouts as he waits for a new contract.

Bennett was expected to be a no-show as he is requesting a new contract. He had his best year as a professional in 2014, catching 90 passes for 916 yards and six touchdowns. He was sent to the Pro Bowl in 2014 as well. Chicago personnel expect him to be a Chicago Bear this season, seeing that he hasn’t requested a trade right now. He can be viewed as a TE1 for the upcoming season. Analysis: Colby Conway

Lorenzo Taliaferro and rookie Javorius Allen will battle for the Ravens' backup running back position.

Justin Forsett will rightly return as the starter while the two aforementioned name will compete for the backup gig. Taliaferro picked up 292 yards on 68 carries last season, good for a 4.29 YPC before a foot injury ended his season in 2014. Forsett will clearly be the running back to own in Baltimore, but the backup will also be an important handcuff option. Analysis: Colby Conway

Browns' linebacker Keith Pough reverted to injured reserve from waived-injured after going unclaimed off waivers.

Pough spent 15 weeks on the Browns practice squad last season, and he seems destined for that type of role again in 2015. He is currently dealing with a hamstring issue, so he will need to prove that he is over that before he garners any sort of consideration. Analysis: Colby Conway

Dillon Gee likely is reentering the rotation Tuesday in San Diego, although next Wednesday also consideration.

Gee looked good in his rehab start and he will look to return to the rotation next week. Matt Harvey has made it clear he isn’t a fan of the idea of a six-man rotation, but the Mets are doing it in best interests of their young arms. Gee was 0-2 with a 3.86 ERA before going on the DL. Analysis: Colby Conway

Derrick Johnson (Achilles) was able to participate in team drills during Wednesday's OTA practice.

Johnson was lost early last season with an ankle injury, but he showed no effects from it today. He looks to return as a pivotal force in the Kansas City front seven. Analysis: Colby Conway

Chris Ivory missed organized team activities Wednesday due to personal reasons.

Ivory carried the ball 198 times last season for 821 yards and six touchdowns. He is currently slated to be the starting running back in New York, but Stevan Ridley, Zac Stacy and Bilal Powell are competing for the job as well. There is a lot of talent in the Jets’ backfield, which could make for an interesting fantasy cluster. Analysis: Colby Conway

Cowboys' wide receiver Chris Boyd reverted to injured reserve from waived-injured after going unclaimed off waivers.

The former Vanderbilt receiver went unclaimed off waivers and he is hoping that he can find a way to be of any sort of help to an NFL organization. He will go unowned in all fantasy leagues this upcoming season. Analysis: Colby Conway

Ryan Fitzpatrick (broken leg) participated in team drills during Wednesday's OTA practice.

Fitzpatrick is expected to compete with Geno Smith for the starting gig in New York this upcoming year. Fitzmagic was more of a game manager for Houston than a quarterback, but it’s not like Smith has done anything thus far in career to give him any leverage over the veteran Fitzpatrick. This will be an interesting quarterback competition because the Jets are much improved from recent years and the quarterback does have weapons surrounding him to be successful. Analysis: Colby Conway
