Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said Tuesday the decision about his playing status this week will come on Thursday.
Coach Mike McCarthy had said on Monday that the Packers plan to announce a decision on Rodgers' status earlier than they did in past weeks. The past two weeks, the Packers waited until Friday to announce that Matt Flynn would be the starting quarterback.
Marc Krauss went 1-for-4 with a solo home run on Thursday in Toronto.
Krauss is hitting only .150 with a .350 slugging percentage after launching his first home run of the season. It was just his seventh game of the season, but there’s no doubt he’ll need to cut down on the strikeouts if he’s ever going to be able to showcase the decent pop he has. The left-handed hitter was called up from AAA to try and infuse some offense in Anaheim and was slugging .639 over his past 10 games. With Matt Joyce really struggling, expect Krauss to steal some of his at-bats over the next few weeks. Analysis: Kevin Luchansky
