Chris Bassitt allowed two runs and five hits with one walk and three strikeouts against Seattle on Sunday.

Bassitt flashed some decent strikeout rates in the upper minors, but that part of his game has not yet translated to the majors. In six career major league starts, his strikeout rate is just 14.8 percent. He doesn’t necessarily have great control or keep the ball on the ground at a high rate, so he doesn’t really have a skill to hang hit hat on. Don’t expect much. He was only starting Sunday because Sonny Gray remains out with an illness, so Bassitt is not scheduled for another start at this time. Analysis: Brett Talley

Sam Fuld went 1-for-3 with a solo home run against Seattle on Sunday.

Fuld’s starts have been fairly irregular lately as his start on Sunday was only his second start of the week. Outside of providing speed to those in the deepest of leagues, Fuld has little use in fantasy. Analysis: Brett Talley

Fernando Rodney recorded his 16th save of the season against Oakland on Sunday allowing two base runners and striking out one.

Rodney now has the last two saves for the Mariners. Lloyd McClendon had said his hope was that Rodney could regain the closing gig, and it would appear that may be the case for now. But if you own Carson Smith, hold on to him. Smith has fantastic strikeout and walk rates and is the superior pitcher to Rodney, even if he’s not getting save opportunities at the moment. Analysis: Brett Talley

Mike Montgomery allowed one run and six hits with one walk and two strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings against Oakland on Sunday.

Montgomery now has a 1.62 ERA in seven starts for the Mariners. That’s all well and good, but he’s unlikely to continue being that good. His strikeout rate is well below average at 16.1 percent He does have above average control with a 6.7 percent walk rate, but run prevention is going to be difficult with a strikeout rate like Montgomery’s. A .221 BABIP and 86.6 percent strand rate is what is really driving his success. Sell. He’ll go again Friday against the Angels. Analysis: Brett Talley

Adam Lind was 2-for-4 with a run, home run, three RBI and a walk on Sunday.

Adam Lind is hot. After hitting his 14th home run on Sunday and driving in three more runs, Lind has an RBI in nine straight games. This is the first time since 2005 that a Brewer has accomplished that feat. Through 79 games, Lind has 35 runs, 14 home runs and 51 RBI with a .298/.373/.518 slash line. His home run per fly ball rate is in line with 2013 so he is healthy this season. If Lind is on your waiver wire, he is a worthy corner infielder to target for the second half.  Analysis: Greg Jewett
