Victor Cruz underwent arthroscopic surgery Thursday on his left knee, ending his 2013 season. The Giants wide receiver came out of Sunday’s 23-0 loss to the Seahawks with a concussion in addition to the knee issue.
The procedure, called an arthroscopic debridement, was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Fla.
Cruz will have plenty of time to rest and rehab to be ready for next season. Rueben Randle played 39 snaps, ran 30 pass routes, but was targeted on twice last week. Whereas, Jerrel Jernigan played 24 snaps, 20 of them pass routes, and led the team in targets (8) and receptions (7). It was Jernigan's first action since Week 12. Rather than try and guess which receiver Eli Manning will target this week, the safer play is to target someone else, especially since Eli's favorite receivers tend to play for the other team.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Wilson Ramos went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the Nationals 2-1 win over the Cubs on Monday.
Ramos hit his third home run of the season on Monday to go with a .285 average, 13 runs and 21 RBI. Health has been Ramos’s biggest hindrance so far in his career as he has appeared in more than 100 games just once since he entered the league in 2010 but that has not stopped the production as he has hit 10+ home runs three times since 2011 and boasts a per 162 average of 22 home runs and 87 RBI which would make him one of the top offensive catchers in baseball. Ramos owners should keep their fingers crossed that this is the year he plays a full season as they will likely end up with one of the top catchers in fantasy. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba
