Spurs just announced Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili are being rested tonight against Golden State. Tony Parker (shin) is still out too.
Coach Popovich resting his stars for a Thursday night nationally televised game, can not say we are surprised. Boris Diaw will likely move into the starting lineup to replace Duncan, Cory Joseph got the start in Wednesday's game, but Patty Mills is the better Daily League option of the two, and just maybe this could be a game where Danny Green finally has a fantasy relevant game.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Scott Kazmir allowed three runs on five hits with four strikeouts and one walk over 5 1/3 innings against the Royals on Friday in Game 2 of the ALDS.
Although far from dominant, Kazmir was solid tonight in his first postseason start since 2009. It was a positive sign for Astros fans, as Kazmir had been very bad lately, posting a 5.89 ERA over his last nine starts. But his success against the Royals came into play tonight – coming into Game 2, Kazmir was 1-1 with a 2.10 ERA and 14:3 K/BB ratio against Kansas City over 21 1/3 innings. This could be a crucial line if the series ends up going the distance. With the Astros trotting out Dallas Keuchel in Game 3 and Collin McHugh in Game 4, Kazmir will need to step up in a huge role in a potential Game 5 scenario. Even though that game would be played in Kansas City – we obviously know how electric the atmosphere would be in an elimination game at Kauffman Stadium – Kazmir would be a hot play in DFS leagues with his outstanding numbers against the Royals.
