FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

Jamal Crawford is in the Clippers starting lineup on Saturday. Willie Green will come off the bench.

Pau Gasol (illness) will play Sunday against Clippers.

Pau Gasol missed Friday's game due to an illness, but appears to be ready to go today verse the Clippers. The 34-year-old big man is averaging 18 points and 12 boards on the season, and should find his way back into your starting lineup.  Analysis: Keith Tro

The Dodgers signed setup man Mike Adams to a Minor league deal.

The 36-year-old reliever got off to a strong start for the Phillies last season, but was sidelined after just 18.2 innings with shoulder and rotator cuff issues. Adams went 2-1 with a 2.89 ERA over that span, which included 22 games. With Kenley Jansen (foot) expected to miss a few months, the Dodgers continue to add bullpen depth.  Analysis: Keith Tro

Taj Gibson has been ruled Out for Sunday.

The injury bug has made itself at home in Chicago. Taj Gibson, 29, suffered a sprained ankle in Friday's win over the Timberwolves. He missed six games earlier in the season after tweaking the same ankle. Nikola Mirotic is likely to be the primary beneficiary as a result of Gibson's absence.  Analysis: Keith Tro

Nerlens Noel is questionable Monday with calf soreness from a fall against Washington Friday.

Noel being listed as questionable for Monday already may be enough to assume that he will be held out for Sunday's game against the Pacers due to the calf injury. Expect the Sixers to make an official announcement closer to game time. if he doesn't play, then you can probably expect to see a lot more of Thomas Robinson and Robert Covington. Analysis: Howard Bender

Matt Wieters is catching in Sunday's intrasquad game.

It's a bit of a surprise considering the Orioles said that he would be limited to DHing until mid-March but perhaps that just meant for competitive games. Since it's just an intersqaud scrimmage, maybe they'll just limit his throwing from behind the dish but let him get some work in at least. Analysis: Howard Bender

Zach Putnam has been dealing with a tight back, but says it's minor.

Putnam, who actually filled in briefly as the White Sox closer last year, will probably take it easy on himself over the next couple of days to let the tightness subside. Consider him day-to-day but don't expect this to impact his standing with the club at all. Analysis: Howard Bender

Brandon Snyder is signing with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League. He claims to be 100-percent healthy after dealing with plantar fasciitis.

The 28-year old corner infielder has seen his share of call-ups over the years, but nothing that would be deemed successful or promising. He'll try to re-establish himself in the Atlantic League and from there, see if he can get himself a big-league tryout. Analysis: Howard Bender

Jason Berken signs a minor-league deal with the Phillies.

The 31-year old right-hander has been sitting in Triple-A for the last two seasons without a single call-up. The Phillies will kick the tires here, but don;t expect to see him in the majors anytime soon. Analysis: Howard Bender

Trevor Plouffe left camp Sunday with the flu.

Plouffe will join the rest of his teammates in the infirmary as the flu is running rampant through the Twins clubhouse right now. Consider him day-to-day and expect him back soon enough. Analysis: Howard Bender

Byron Buxton was sent home with the flu that's been afflicting the Twins clubhouse.

He'll get some chicken soup and take the day off to get better. Consider him day-to-day but this is not a concern at all. Analysis: Howard Bender

Stephen Tulloch says he's "way ahead of schedule" in his rehab from a torn ACL.

Let's see how "way ahead of schedule" he is on the common sense trail and see if he actually learned anything from his bonehead mistake. Tulloch was injured during the landing of his jump during a sack dance last year and missed the rest of the year with the torn ACL. He could be back in time for spring OTAs but he'll definitely be around for training camp. Let's see if his brain joins his body this year. Analysis: Howard Bender

Tigers view pitcher Kyle Ryan as a reliever this season.

The 23-year old southpaw has worked as a starter during his time in the minor leagues and the Tigers liked what they saw in his 10.1-inning cup of coffee out of the pen last year. His curve and his slider are solid out-pitches and he is a groundball specialist. He'll compete for a spot in the Detroit pen this year. Analysis: Howard Bender

The Yasmany Tomas experiment at third base continued on Saturday, but the Diamondbacks have already begun to make plans to get their new Cuban slugger some time in the outfield.

The Diamondbacks haven't said whether they're happy with the work yet or not, but the recent Cody Ransom signing should be a nice indicator. Tomas will work both positions until the Diamondbacks choose to fully commit one way or the other. Analysis: Howard Bender

Corey Kluber is scheduled to throw live batting practice Sunday, a 2-inning simulated game Tuesday and 3-inning in his Cactus League debut on Saturday.

Looks like it's business as usual for the 2014 AL Cy Young award winner. Expectations are running high and so is his ADP. The hope is that he can at least duplicate last year's totals, but be wary of a potential drop-off. Regression can be a real pain in the ass sometimes. Analysis: Howard Bender
