Seahawks corner back Brandon Browner (groin) did not practice Thursday.

Chad Billingsley is traveling to LA to have elbow examined by his doctor.

Since his doctor has been out of the country, Chad Billingsley can now meet with him this week. Dr. El Attrache has performed both of Billingsley's prior elbow surgeries and he hopes for clarity in regards to his injury and how to proceed. Billingsley is 2-3 this year with a 5.84 ERA. Analysis: Greg Jewett

Wade Davis returned Saturday after sitting out Friday's loss with a sore back.

After sitting out on Friday night with back spasms, Wade Davis returned to action on Saturday afternoon. Davis gave up his first home run since August 24, 2013 to Jose Bautista. That equates to 707 days and 125 2/3 innings since his last one allowed. Davis is 7-1 this year with nine saves and a 0.60 ERA. But monitor his health going forward as back injuries can linger.  Analysis: Greg Jewett

Alfredo Simon (groin) will receive three extra days of rest before his next start.

In an effort to give Alfredo Simon time to allow his strained groin to heal, he will get extra time off before his next start. With an off day on Monday, Simon will be slated to start next Saturday. Simon is 10-6 this year with a 4.55 ERA and 1.43 WHIP. Analysis: Greg Jewett

Caleb Joseph went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and one run scored on Saturday against the Tigers.

Since July 22, Joseph has played in every other game for the Orioles. Matt Wieters has yet to catch in back-to-back games, continuing a regular irregular role for Joseph. He is hitting just .245 on the season, but since he does have eight homers on the year, he warrants a thought in DFS, especially if you are trying to allocate your money towards other positions. Analysis: Colby Conway

Manny Machado went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, one RBI and a stolen base against the Tigers on Saturday.

Machado homered for the second consecutive game and he continues to be a force to be reckoned with this season. He is contributing across the board, hitting .295, scoring 67 times, hitting 23 home runs, driving in 55 runs and stealing 15 bases. Expect him to be in the 20/20 club by the end of the season, but don’t rule out him joining the 25/25 group. Do not take him out of your lineup. Analysis: Colby Conway

Kevin Gausman allowed two earned runs on four hits while striking out six in seven innings against the Tigers on Saturday.

Gausman pitched very well against the Tigers today, en route to earning his second win of the 2015 season. He shutout the Braves over 7 2/3 innings in his last start, and even though he didn’t blank the Tigers, he pitched well enough to get his team the victory. If he can continue to pitch like this, he is going to help a lot of fantasy teams—and the Orioles—down the stretch. However, keep in mind that in the two starts before his matchup against the Braves, he surrendered 11 earned runs on 13 hits in just 9 2/3 innings of work. He will face the Angels on Friday in his next start. Analysis: Colby Conway

Ian Kinsler went 3-for-4 with a double against the Tigers on Saturday.

After a superb month of July, Kinsler is starting off August in a big way. In 27 games in July, Kinsler’s .366 average was the third highest for a second baseman, trailing only DJ LeMahieu (.400) and Devon Travis (.368). Kinsler has three straight multi-hit efforts and he is producing for his owners, despite the subtraction of a few regulars in the Detroit lineup. Even though he hasn’t homered since July 20, he needs to be in all lineups moving forward. Analysis: Colby Conway

Nick Castellanos went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and one run scored on Saturday against the Orioles.

Castellanos has struggled this season, hitting just .240 with 11 homers and 50 RBI. He is on the lower end of the third base pedigree and his only real value comes in AL-only formats. When it comes to mixed leagues, he will likely be in free agency, unless your league is very deep. Analysis: Colby Conway

Anibal Sanchez allowed six earned runs on nine hits while striking out five in 6 2/3 innings of work on Saturday against the Orioles.

Prior to today’s start, he was 7-1 in his last nine starts. However, don’t be fooled, it’s not as if he has been dominant in his successful stretch. He’s allowed two or more earned runs in every start since the middle of June. While the strikeouts have remained somewhat constant, he has dealt with some command issues of late, walking 18 batters in his last eight starts. If the season were to end today, his 4.77 ERA would be the highest of his career over a full season. He will face the Boston Red Sox on Friday in his next start of the 2015 campaign. Analysis: Colby Conway

Rays are expected to recall OF Mikie Mahtook from Triple-A Durham.

One day after being sent down for Grady Sizemore, Mikie Mahtook will return to Tampa Bay with Steven Souza suffering a fractured left hand. Mahtook is a backup outfielder for the Rays who was hitting .236 with two home runs and nine stolen bases at Triple-A through 76 games. Mahtook also has two home runs for Tampa Bay in 11 games this year.  Analysis: Greg Jewett

Cubs designated RHP Yoervis Medina for assignment.

In order to make room for Dan Haren on the roster, Yoervis Medina was designated for assignment. If he clears waivers he will report to Triple-A Iowa. Medina had a 7.00 ERA and 1.78 WHIP with Chicago.  Analysis: Greg Jewett

White Sox signed free agent RF Dayan Viciedo to a minor league contract.

Dayan Viciedo triggered his opt out clause and returned to his original team in the majors. Reports have Viciedo going to Triple-A to primarily work at first base while in Charlotte. It has been a precipitous fall for Viciedo and he will look for the White Sox to rekindle his career.  Analysis: Greg Jewett

Blue Jays signed free agent RHP Chris Smith to a minor league contract.

After being released by the Yankees, Toronto has signed free agent pitcher Chris Smith. Smith is a relief pitcher and in 20 games across two levels was 3-2 with a 2.72 ERA with 35 strikeouts in 36 1/3 innings pitched. Smith will pitch at Double-A. Analysis: Greg Jewett

Dan Haren will make his Cubs debut on Wednesday against the Pirates.

Dan Haren will make his debut for the Cubs this season in Pittsburgh. Haren is 7-7 this year with a 3.42 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. In 17 1/3 innings at PNC Park in his career, Haren is 1-1 with a 4.67 ERA. Haren is scheduled to face Jeff Locke.  Analysis: Greg Jewett

49ers worked out LB Steve Beauharnais on Saturday.

The 25-year old appeared in three games with the Redskins last season, recording for total tackles.  Analysis: Ben Diamond
