Coach Dennis Allen said he wants to see Matt McGloin and Terrelle Pryor play QB in the final four games so that he has a firm grasp on position.
Nobody is going to try and build a franchise around McGloin - there I said it. Now that the shocker is out let's consider Pryor. The Raiders had to know that Pryor wasn't going to become an instant sensation, so they need to use patience. There were several plays earlier in the year that made people believe in him (if nothing else as a fantasy asset). The key thing is that the Raiders are in a once again strong division where they are going to continue being beat-down to sub .500 seasons.ANALYST:
Curtis Granderson went 2-for-4 with a double and a run on Friday night against his former Yankees club
Granderson was happy to be back in his old stomping grounds on Friday night, as he went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and made a few impressive defensive plays out in right field. He has started out rather cold at the dish on the season (.222) so his two hits were encouraging, but what has been impressive so far this year is his great plate discipline. He is not the power hitter that he once was, but he might be making some strides in transforming his game into a more patient hitter. Analysis: Dom Murtha
Mark Teixeria went 2-for-4 with two home runs and 4 RBI on Friday night vs the Mets
Tex was locked in on Friday night, as he refused to allow deGrom to get a fastball by him. Both of his home runs were balls that he turned on and launched into the second deck of the house that Jeter built. Of his 12 hits on the year, seven of them are home runs. He may not be hitting for average, but Tex is certainly making the most of his contact by slugging at a high clip. Going forward understand that his average won’t be there, but his power surge is an encouraging sign. Analysis: Dom Murtha
