Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski told reporters Miguel Cabrera was dealing with a Grade 2-3 groin strain late in the year. He will see a specialist and may need surgery this offseason. No word on whether surgery would delay him at the start of spring training or even the 2014 regular season.
Dombrowski went on to say that Cabrera had "some tearing of fibers in the areas," and if Cabrera does have surgery he would expect him to be fully recovered in time for Spring Training.
