Austin Jackson broke out of his postseason slump Wednesday after being moved down to 8th in the order. Jackson went 2-for-2 with two base hits, two walks, two RBI, a run scored, a stolen base, and no strikeouts in the Tigers 7-3 win over the Red Sox to tie the series at two games apiece.
Jackson had only three hits in 33 prior at-bats with 18 strikeouts coming into Wednesday's game. Whether manager Jim Leyland will keep Jackson in the 8th spot is still up in the air, but at least it worked for one game, and could serve as a confidence booster for Jackson going forward.
