You don't have to read too closely between the lines to sense Michael Vick could be facing a lengthy absence from game action.
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback sounded discouraged Wednesday when discussing the hamstring injury that will likely keep him on the sideline for a second straight week. Vick doesn't know when he'll get back on the field.
"I want to get back out there, but I can't," Vick said, via CSNPhilly.com. "I try to burst and run, I can't do it. Just hoping it's not a long time."
"It's worse than what I thought it was going to be," he added. "It's just slow. It's taking longer than I thought it would."
Vick already began his descent from greatness after a hot start to the season prior to injury - this is just fuel on the fire. Foles has performed considerably better than in 2012 in relief duties, making the loss of Vick not as jarring as expected. If Foles continues to hold his own in his absence, Vick may not reclaim the starting role in Philly. This news makes Vick your best candidate to drop on your next waiver move in 10, and even 12 team leagues.
