Max Scherzer was lifted from his start Sunday in the seventh inning after 108 pitches despite having allowed just one run on two hits, two walks, and striking out 13. Scherzer would get the no-decision as the Red Sox would score five runs in the last two innings to come from behind and tie the ALCS series at a game apiece.

After the game, Max Scherzer said that it was not even a discussion, he knew he was done after seven innings. Leyland added that Scherzer was, "spent."
