Santonio Holmes saw his first action of the season Sunday after beginning the preseason on the phyically unable to perform list. Holmes played 45 snaps reeling in just one catch for 13 yards in the New York Jets 18-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Holmes played in more than half the teams snaps and all reports are that he is healthy and could have played more snaps if the Jets did not take the cautious route with him in Week One. The Jets have a quick turn around as they face the Pats in New England on Thursday, which is a favorable matchup for Holmes as you would have to believe the Jets will be forced to throw the ball and, so maybe Holmes lucks into a decent scoring output for Week Two. Holmes will likely be very inconsistent, so if there is a more appealing option on waivers do not hesitate to make the move.
