FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

Jon Brockman is targeting a return to the NBA and will start by playing in the Las Vegas Summer League with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Donatas Motiejunas turned in a solid effort on Sunday, scoring 16 points with two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block

Motiejunas once again got the start at center for the Rockets and with news that Howard is still ways away from returning he should be able to hold his fantasy value for the remainder of the fantasy season. Over the last five games Motiejunas is averaging 13.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.2 three-pointers over 30.0 minutes. The Rockets have been using a three-man rotation at the forward and center positions since the return of Terrence Jones but all three including Josh Smith should be in no danger of losing any value because of it. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Daniel Bard (shoulder) was able to throw a successful bullpen session on Sunday with no issues as he attempts to pitch in the big leagues for the first time since 2013.

Bard at one point was one of the Red Sox prime pitching prospects, as he could frequently light up the radar gun at over 100 MPH. Now injuries have come and confidence has faded, so expectations should be altered going into 2015.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

Terrence Jones played 44 minutes on Sunday, scoring 19 points with seven rebounds in the Rockets 105-103 win over the Cavaliers.

Jones is enjoying his move to the starting lineup as he is averaging 17.0 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.2 blocks over the past five games. Jones displayed this time of production last season and with news that Dwight Howard is still ways away from returning he should be a must start in all standard leagues and a very solid play in daily leagues with the right match-up. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

James Harden filled the stat sheet on Sunday, scoring a team high 33 points with eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks in the Rockets 105-103 win over the Cavaliers.

Harden makes another case to be the leagues MVP as he led the Rockets over LeBron James and the Cavaliers. Harden nearly matched James at every step and the two put on a show for the national audience. Over the last five games Harden is averaging 24.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 1.2 blocks, 1.4 steals and 2.4 three-pointers per game and should remain as one of fantasy basketballs top performers no matter the format. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Kevin Love scored 21 points with six rebounds and three assists in the Cavaliers 105-103 loss to the Rockets on Sunday.

Love is enjoying a strong stretch of play, averaging 18.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.4 three-pointers over the past five games. The absence of Kyrie Irving from the lineup has resulted in additional shots for Love and he has taken advantage of the opportunities. Kyrie is however expected to return on Tuesday against the Celtics but given the match up should have little effect on Love. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Tristan Thompson registered a double-double on Sunday, scoring 14 points with 19 rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in the Cavaliers 105-103 loss to the Rockets.

This game came out of nowhere for Thompson as he has been playing as Timofey Mozgovs primary backup which has led to him averaging nearly 25.0 minutes a night. Thompson has proven to be a double-double player when given starter minutes throughout his career and with Mozgov playing just 18 minutes on Sunday Thompson was able to shine. Unless an injury to Mozgov occurs fantasy owners can continue to ignore Thompson who is averaging just 8.0 points and 7.0 rebounds this month. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba
