According to Troy Renck of the Denver Post Roy Oswalt will likely start for the Rockies Thursday in Washington.
Oswalt's made five minor league appearances since signing with the Rockies. He's posted a 2.16 ERA and 0.930 WHIP over 33 1/3 innings. Oswalt struggled during his time with the Rangers last season, getting hit hard to the tune of a 5.80 ERA over 17 appearances -- including nine starts.ANALYST:
Oswalt is a spot starter, but on the road at Washington is a good spot. He could be a nice value in daily leagues, as well.ANALYST:
A clause in QB Jameis Winston's contract prohibits him from playing baseball.
The days of the two-sport start are going out the window with too much money on the tables and Winston's contract is at the forefront. He will no longer be able to pursue a baseball career, unlike Russell Wilson, who still has that opportunity for the Texas Rangers. For $25 million, the Buccaneers want to be sure their quarterback of the future is healthy and focused only on football. Analysis: Rob Trayah
