Update: Browns coach Rob Chudzinski said Trent Richardson could miss minicamp in early June due to strained leg muscle. Labeled it precautionary.

It's already been well documented what type of production you can expect out of Mr. Richardson. At this stage the move being labeled as precautionary is understandable. Why lose your biggest threat to a long term injury? However, I believe this move will further complicate the RBBC roles of the remaining stable of backs. Though some in the stable are not the young studs that Clevelanders so desire there are some serviceable options in Hardesty, Lewis, Ogbonnaya, Jackson and the newly acquired Maysonet. Some down time out of your clear cut #1 will allow either some clarity OR mass confusion as to who should be eating up the excess reps. In terms of fantasy value the news on richardson serves absolutely no impact as this is still fairly early in the new year. However, again, this may allow a better look at some of the lesser backs to give us a glimpse into their fantasy future for 2013.

Trent Richardson is held.out of OTAs and maybe mini camp. Why is this good news for you. The hold out is precautionary. Richardson limped through last year. And even with that and defenses keyed in on him, Richardson rushed for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns. Oh yeah, he. Also collected 367 receiving yards with one touchdown. rnRichardson is a top 10 running back.

Last season Richardson was coming back from knee surgery, so rehabbing a strained muscle should be a walk in the park for TRich. There really is no way that I can see TRich falling outside of the top 10 overall in any format this year (barring substantial injury issues as the season opener approaches).
