The Cardinals signed Foster off the Patriots' practice squad Monday, Brad Almquist of The Boston Globe reports.
Lead back David Johnson suffered a dislocated wrist in the Week 1 loss to the Lions on Sunday and is expected to require 8-to-12 weeks to recover, so the Cardinals elected to bring Foster aboard to address their depth at running back. It's not expected that Foster, who appeared in three games with New England as a rookie in 2016, will be in store for meaningful snaps with Arizona right off the bat, but that could change if the likes of Kerwynn Williams, Andre Ellington and Elijhaa Penny are unable to provide much production on the ground or as pass catchers out of the backfield.
