Michigan has offered 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh $48 million over six years.

It's no secret that Harbaugh will be gone from the 49ers at the end of this year and given the amount of money Michigan is offering him, it seems increasingly likely that he will soon be calling Wolverine State home very soon. At $8 million per year, Harbaugh would immediately become the highest paid coach in college football if he were to sign with Michigan.

49ers Carlos Hyde (ankle) says he received good news on his MRI, but barring a miracle does not expect to play Saturday.

Hyde has had the look of nearly breaking out all season long, and now that he finally has a chance (slightly concussed Frank Gore) Hyde gets hurt himself and most likely won't be able to seize his opportunity. If Gore can't play on Saturday, Alfonso Smith should get the majority of the carries against the Chargers.

Source says Jets GM John Idzik is 50-50 to return in 2015.

It's going to come down to the backbone of owner Woody Johnson. Idzik has done a masterful job in turning around the Jets salary cap issues, but the vocal masses don't see the big picture. All they see is a failed draft from last year and a lack of immediate results. If the cries for Idzik's head remain and Johnson turns into a spineless jellyfish looking to assuage the horde of idiots out there, then we'll see a change. If we do, it's going to prove to be incredibly short-sighted and will continue to keep the Jets from actually evolving as an organization.

While the Washington Redskins haven't confirmed the news, sources have said coach Jay Gruden will be retained as coach for the 2015 season.

There has been so much talk of Robert Griffin being cast aside that the notion of Gruden being the one to go was readily dismissed by so many. But that didn't mean that his job was safe, not with what this team has done this year. However, if it means only changing up the QB and not revamping the entire coaching staff, the Redskins can certainly get on board with that. Should next season ultimately fail after that, well, then a re-visit to a new coach will certainly be in play.

Redskins head coach Jay Gruden has been told he will return next season, reports Dianna Marie Russini of NBC Washington.

We are talking about Dan Snyder here, folks, so do not count this as concrete firm. It is the right move, however, as despite the lack of on-field success in his first year, it would be unfair to judge him without giving him a chance to build his team over at least a couple of seasons. Still, we are talking about Dan Snyder as the owner of the team.

CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora says that the Raiders are ready to part with draft picks and spend big money in order to acquire 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh.

The Raiders would be a great fit for Harbaugh, considering the team will be ready to give him the power he has been denied in his time in San Francisco. If the trade is made following the the season, Harbaugh would likely become one of the highest paid coaches in the league.

Bears plan to part ways with defensive coordinator Mel Tucker after this season.

The Bears have one of the worst defenses in the league through the first 13 weeks so this latest news should come at no surprise. There are plenty of solid options out there to obtain so expect the Bears to get a plan in order now that their season is practically over.

Jason Reid of The Washington Post says there's a chance Jay Gruden could be fired after this season.

Washington is 3-9, and one of the worst teams in football this year despite having solid roster talent. While Jay Gruden certainly hasn't helped his team's case, the case could be made that ownership has been the biggest factor in contributing to such poor success. Gruden has a good track record, so he probably will get another chance next season to show what he can do.

Raiders and Jets are expected to inquire about 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh's availability in a trade.

Interesting, but not surprising. Someone was going to jump the gun on a chance to land Harbaugh as their next coach, but obviously it's going to come down to the asking price. Seeing as how he should be available come season's end, if someone wants him bad enough, they'll make the move now. Dumb, but possible.

The Colts are not interested in signing RB Ray Rice at this time.

Many teams are going to shy away from signing Rice for obvious reasons, but there's still a chance that someone picks him up. It's difficult to imagine that he would be productive given the layoff and the lack of work done to stay in game shape. But we've seen crazier things happen so while the Colts may be happy with the Dan Herron/Trent "Fantasy Turd" Richardson tandem in the backfield, there could be a team looking to give him a second chance.
