Receiver Nate Burleson has been bidding his time, waiting for his chance to make a play, ever since breaking his forearm Sept. 24.
He still has to meet with the doctors and get clearance this week to return, but he’s preparing like he’ll be on the field and in uniform on Sunday.
While Burleson should probably be added in all leagues, owners should temper their enthusiasm and not get carried away thinking they've got themselves a fantasy savior here. The Lions are still Calvin Johnson's team and he will continue to see the majority of targets each week. Burleson will slide back into the No. 2 role where Kevin Durham currently resides and may see an average of half a dozen targets per game, but expecting him to suddenly do more than has provided over the last few seasons seems a bit ridiculous. His 100-plus yard performance in Week 3 was his first since November 7, 2010.
