Bengals QB Jason Campbell left Thursday's game early with an apparent elbow injury.

Before his early exit, Campbell completed 6-of-15 passes for 72 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Although there hasn't been much released on his condition following Thursday night's game, it does not appear like he is going to miss a significant amount of time with this injury. He will enter the 2014 season as the primary backup to Andy Dalton.

Bengals signed QB Jason Campbell to a 1-year deal.

Campbell is a serviceable veteran back-up though he's likely to see less time on the field backing up Andy Dalton than he did replacing the oft-injured Browns crew he backed in 2013. He is not a fantasy option without a starting job, so just leave him be in all formats. Should he get a chance to start, having targets like A.J. Green and Giovani Bernard should give him short-term value.

Jason Campbell (concussion) has been cleared to start Sunday's game vs the Patriots.

Well...it's better than Caleb Hanie I suppose but still not ideal for Josh Gordon. No matter who starts at QB the Browns are going to have a tough time in Foxboro this Sunday.

Browns QB Jason Campbell is practicing for second consecutive day. QB Brandon Weeden (concussion) still out.

Campbell has been announced as the Browns starting QB this week against the Patriots. While I am still very nervous for Josh Gordon, this is much better news than having Alex Tanney or Caleb Hanie under center against the Patriots.

Browns QB Jason Campbell (concussion) has been cleared to practice today. He still needs to be cleared by doctors to play in game.

Browns coach Rob Chudzinski said he'll name his starter later in week. Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden have been cleared for activity, but not to practice.

Owners of Josh Gordon are anxiously awaiting some word that either Campbell or Weeden will get the nod to resume practice but with neither one looking like a beacon of health right now, the chances seem pretty slim. Campbell's symptoms have lasted for over two weeks now so he is seeming like an even longer shot than Weeden. Until you hear that one or the other is at practice, you have to assume that life in Cleveland will go on without them.
