After running back Daniel Thomas had a career game against Pittsburgh with 105 yards rushing and a touchdown, he had just five carries for 16 yards against New England. He also re-injured his left ankle in the fourth quarter. The injury forced him to miss the Week 13 game against the Jets, and he was limited at practice Tuesday. Thomas said his up-and-down performances and injury issues have been tough. “It’s definitely frustrating,” he said. “I’m just doing whatever I have to do, whatever role coaches want me to play.”

The inability to rely on Thomas for quality fantasy production has been the only constant with him since entering the NFL. Injuries and and lackluster play have been his major competition and while there are times where he shows a little something to pique your interest, it disappears the following week. Ankle injury or not, he is not a recommended starter for Week 16.

Daniel Thomas (ankle) will not play on Sunday.

Miami Dolphins tailback Daniel Thomas tore a ligament in his left ankle during Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Carolina Panthers, and is likely done for the season.

There shouldn't be many Daniel Thomas owners out there, so only Lamar Miller owners have cause for attention. The injury presumably helps sort the backfield workload, providing a chance to validate the overrated response many analysts had prior to week 1. Unfortunately, he'll face the Jets twice the rest of the way. I'm still not buying Miller in less than 12 team leagues (if that).

Daniel Thomas is on crutches and his left leg is in a walking boot. He told Dolphins reporter Omar Kelly he didn't break his ankle though.

The Dolphins haven't been able to run the ball since Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin began their soap opera. Thomas seems to be Joe Philbin's favorite but he is barely deserving of a roster spot in leagues of 12 or less.
