After running back Daniel Thomas had a career game against Pittsburgh with 105 yards rushing and a touchdown, he had just five carries for 16 yards against New England. He also re-injured his left ankle in the fourth quarter. The injury forced him to miss the Week 13 game against the Jets, and he was limited at practice Tuesday.
Thomas said his up-and-down performances and injury issues have been tough.
“It’s definitely frustrating,” he said. “I’m just doing whatever I have to do, whatever role coaches want me to play.”
The inability to rely on Thomas for quality fantasy production has been the only constant with him since entering the NFL. Injuries and and lackluster play have been his major competition and while there are times where he shows a little something to pique your interest, it disappears the following week. Ankle injury or not, he is not a recommended starter for Week 16.
