The Toronto Blue Jays Have Given Bullpen Coach Pat Hentgen A Year Off To Allow Him To Help Look After His Ailing Father. Triple-A Pitching Coach Bob Stanley Has Been Promoted To Fill Hentgen’s Spot, The Club Announced Saturday.

A Team News Release Said Hentgen “has Been Re-assigned In The Organization To Allow Him The Time Needed To Support His Family And His Father’s Current Health Issues.”

Hentgen, A Former Toronto Pitcher And Cy Young Award Winner, Had Served As Bullpen Coach In 2011 And 2013. From 2007 Through 2010 And Again In 2012, He Had Been A Front-office Adviser, Focusing On The Development Of Minor-league Pitchers.
