Paul Pierce scored 28 points (9-12 FGA/ 6-6 FTA) going 4-for-5 from three-point range with seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in the Wizards 133-132 win over the Celtics on Monday.
Celtic fans (myself included) watched as Pierce hit some big shots down the stretch for the Wizards including the game tying three-pointer to send the game into it's second overtime period. Pierce's 28 points lead all Wizard scorers as they beat the Celtics one day after losing to them in Boston. At 37 years old it's not fair to expect Pierce to be the same player he was during his prime but like all great players there will be certain games that they remind you how good they use to be. Pierce passed Reggie Miller on the NBA All-Time scoring list tonight as he moves up to 16th place.
