Jose Calderon (calf) will not play Friday.

While Calderon won't play Friday with his calf injury, coach Derek Fisher said that the 33-year old would be his starting point guard for the season opener.

Jose Calderon called himself a “game-time decision” for the Knicks final preseason game Friday vs Toronto, but is targeting opening night on Wednesday vs the Bulls for his return.

Calderon suffered a minor calf injury earlier in the week, but neither he nor the Knicks feel that it will affect his status for the start of the regular season. While he may be calling himself a game time decision, don't be surprised to see him not play, strictly for precautionary reasons.

Jose Calderon (calf) did not practice Thursday.

The veteran point guard left Monday's preseason game with a calf strain and didn't return. This injury isn't considered serious, but Calderon may sit out of practice during the final days of the preseason in hope of being completely healthy for the start of the regular season.

Update: Jose Calderon has a strained right calf muscle. He is doubtful to return.

Better news than an ankle injury, but still troublesome for the Knicks. More information is needed to properly analyze this situation.

Jose Calderon is headed back to the locker room. It looked to be an ankle.

Not good news for the Knicks, as Calderon was brought in to be their top point guard this season. We need to wait for more details to see how this affects the team.

Broken nose notwithstanding, Jose Calderon will play Game seven without wearing a clear, protective mask. At least, that’s the game plan.

One of the leagues best 3 point shooters this season Calderon is showing that it will take a lot more than a broken nose to hold him out of a Game 7 match-up. So far this series Calderon has averaged 11.3 points 4.5 assists and shooting an impressive 53% from beyond the arc in 27 minutes per game.

Jose Calderon suffered a broken nose in the second half of Game 6 on Friday against the Spurs. He will play in Game 7.

Calderon appeared to have taken an elbow or a forearm to the nose which prompted it to bleed immediately and drip all over the court. He sat on a the bench for a few until the bleeding stopped and he went right back in. He'll throw a little tape on the snout and he should be good to go for Game 7.

Jose Calderon has stopped the bleeding from his nose and will return.

Nothing alarming here as Calderon took a quick shot to the snout and had to come off the court to stop the nosebleed. Just a quick break in the action for him.

Jose Caledron nailed six triples on his way to 22 points with four boards and eight assists to lead the Mavs past OKC in overtime.

Numero Ocho almost matched his nickname from long distance Tuesday night as he was 6-for-9 from beyond the arc and is now shooting over 57% from 3-point land over his last five games (12-for-21). Unfortunately Caledron and the Mavs face the Clippers in their next game on Thursday so, any hope of using him as a value play in your daily league contest at point guard is not advised.
