The MRI taken on Jose Calderon's right calf confirmed a strain. He is expected to miss 2-3 weeks.

With Calderon out the Knicks will use Shane Larkin at point guard who was also acquired in the trade that sent Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton to Dallas.

Derek Fisher says he doesn't know if Jose Calderon will play Thursday.

Calderon is one of the game's best deep threats, and the Knicks would love to have him on the court on Thursday. Shane Larkin will continue to start if Calderon is unable to play.

Knicks say Jose Calderon is out Wednesday due to a calf injury. Shane Larkin will start.

Both Calderon and Larkin came to the Knicks in the trade that sent Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton to the Mavericks. Calderon is expected to be the starting point guard when healthy with Larkin coming off the bench.

Jose Calderon (calf) is expected to play on Wednesday.

The Knicks are counting on him to be that reliable point guard presence they have been so desperate for in New York. The team should be able to count on him for a double double most nights with the offensive talent around him.

According to the New York Post, Jose Calderon isn't a sure thing to be ready for opening night Wednesday due to a right calf strain.

Calderon was noncommittal in his chat with the media Sunday, telling reporters he's "OK," but also that the injury will be "in the back of (his) mind." If he misses time, Shane Larkin is likely to step into his role in the one-spot. Larkin can be avoided for fantasy purposes unless Calderon misses a prolonged period of time, although he could be a sneaky DFS play in the meantime for his price-relative-to-minutes.

Jose Calderon (calf) will not play Friday.

While Calderon won't play Friday with his calf injury, coach Derek Fisher said that the 33-year old would be his starting point guard for the season opener.

Jose Calderon called himself a “game-time decision” for the Knicks final preseason game Friday vs Toronto, but is targeting opening night on Wednesday vs the Bulls for his return.

Calderon suffered a minor calf injury earlier in the week, but neither he nor the Knicks feel that it will affect his status for the start of the regular season. While he may be calling himself a game time decision, don't be surprised to see him not play, strictly for precautionary reasons.

Jose Calderon (calf) did not practice Thursday.

The veteran point guard left Monday's preseason game with a calf strain and didn't return. This injury isn't considered serious, but Calderon may sit out of practice during the final days of the preseason in hope of being completely healthy for the start of the regular season.

Update: Jose Calderon has a strained right calf muscle. He is doubtful to return.

Better news than an ankle injury, but still troublesome for the Knicks. More information is needed to properly analyze this situation.

Jose Calderon is headed back to the locker room. It looked to be an ankle.

Not good news for the Knicks, as Calderon was brought in to be their top point guard this season. We need to wait for more details to see how this affects the team.
