James Harden (hip) went through a full practice Thursday.

This fantasy beast is dealing with a minor hip issue, but it isn't something that is going to keep him out action. He's easily a top ten pick headed into fantasy basketball drafts.

Update: James Harden says he probably won't play Monday night vs Phoenix so he can rest a sore hip.

It definitely makes sense as Harden is a guy you obviously want to keep healthy given the value he has to the Rockets. Even if it's him and the team being overly-cautious, that's probably fine. The important thing is to have him on the court for the regular season.

James Harden (hip) sat out of practice Sunday.

Harden injured his hip last Friday, missed a practice or two, and came back and played afterwards. He sat out this Sunday for precautionary reasons, and it shouldn't affect him much longer. Harden is a no doubt first round pick in fantasy drafts, and Harden will be the top shooting guard at seasons end. Fear the beard.

James Harden left practice early Friday after falling and hurting his left hip.

We'll await team reports before speculating, but obviously any injury to Harden will be treated delicately as he proves to be the heart and soul of any team he is on. Expect the Rockets to put him through some tests and update his condition soon enough.

James Harden told reporters he knows he needs to improve his defense this season.

The scuttlebutt on Harden has always been that while he's an unquestionably prolific point-scorer, his defense is rough, to put it mildly. "I have to be better. I have to be great on both ends," is what he told beat reporters. Harden attributed his poor defense to a lack of focus in seasons past, something he intends to improve.

James Harden scored a game-high 34 points in the series eliminating loss on Friday to the Blazers.

While the performance was strong here, it was too little, too late. Harden disappointed through the first five games of the series and failed to live up to the reputation he has deservedly earned as one of the best clutch players in the game. He will now have to settle for watching the rest of the playoffs on TV and formulate a better game plan for next season.

James Harden struggled from the field making just 5-of-15 shots, including only 1-for-7 from the long line, for 17 points but the Rockets were still able to get the Game Five win.

Harden struggled for most the the game but came on some in the fourth quarter to help secure the win and avoid elimination. Game 6 is in Portland on Friday with the Rockets trailing three games to two.

James Harden scored a team-high 28 points in Sunday's loss to the Blazers. The Rockets are now down three games to one to the Blazers.

The Rockets shooting guard is now averaging 27.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists through the first round of the playoffs, but despite his strong efforts are just one loss away from being eliminated. Expect Harden to come ready to play next time out and continue his hot start to this year's postseason.
