Henry Urrutia Headshot

Urrutia was released by the Phillies on Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

The 30-year-old was slashing just .175/.243/.254 through 63 at-bats with Triple-A Norfolk before the Orioles decided to cut him loose. He hasn't seen the majors since a brief stint in 2015, so he'll likely serve as organizational depth if he's able to catch on elsewhere.

Kevin Plawecki Headshot

Plawecki was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Plawecki has just three hits during his limited time in the big leagues this season, and with Travis d'Arnaud and Asdrubal Cabrera back from injury, there's no need for the 26-year-old backstop on the roster. He'll spend more time getting at-bats in the minors until the Mets need catching reinforcements again.
4:16 pm (EST)
Asdrubal Cabrera Headshot

Cabrera (thumb) was activated from the disabled list Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

As anticipated earlier in the day, Cabrera will rejoin the Mets for the series finale with the Padres, although it's unclear if they'll plop him back into the lineup immediately or if they'll ease him back into action. To make room for him on the active roster, Kevin Plawecki was sent back to Triple-A.
4:13 pm (EST)
Rafael Montero Headshot

Montero will start Thursday's game against the Padres, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Jacob deGrom was initially tabbed as Thursday's starting pitcher, but with rain looming on the horizon, the Mets opted to hold him back a day to ensure his start isn't cut short due to the weather. Montero will fill in for him, taking the mound against San Diego rookie Dinelson Lamet.
4:11 pm (EST)
Jacob deGrom Headshot

DeGrom will slide back to start Friday's game against the Pirates due to the threat of inclement weather Thursday night, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The Mets are worried that if deGrom starts Thursday night, his start may be abbreviated if a rain delay pops up partway through the contest, so they'll simply slide him back a day to ensure that he'll get a full start. Rafael Montero will move in to start Thursday's bout against the Padres.
4:08 pm (EST)
Cameron Maybin Headshot

Maybin was prematurely lifted from Thursday's game against the Rays due to right knee soreness, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Maybin was 1-for-3 before exiting the game after five innings. Cliff Pennington subbed in for him, pushing Jefry Marte to left field and Ben Revere to center field. It's unclear how serious the injury is at this point, though more should be known following the conclusion of Thursday's contest.
3:58 pm (EST)
Yulieski Gurriel Headshot

Gurriel is not in the lineup Thursday against the Tigers.

Gurriel is just 2-for-20 (.100) over his last six games, so he'll head to the bench for Thursday's series finale to regather himself. Marwin Gonzalez will draw the start at first base in his stead.
3:49 pm (EST)
Carlos Beltrán Headshot

Beltran is not in the lineup Thursday against the Tigers.

Beltran is in the midst of a brutal 6-for-37 (.162) slide over his past 10 games, so he'll head to the bench to clear his mind. Evan Gattis will serve as the DH, opening up a spot for Juan Centeno to start behind the dish.
3:45 pm (EST)
Carlos Correa Headshot

Correa (illness) is playing shortstop and batting cleanup Thursday against the Tigers.

Correa is apparently feeling better after missing the two games due to an illness. The 22-year-old, who is slashing .276/.361/.455 with six homers and 24 RBI across 156 at-bats this season, will face Justin Verlander in his return to the lineup.
