2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Paul DeJong had an awesome debut with the Cardinals in 2017, hitting 25 home runs with an overall slash line of .285/.325/.532 and a wRC+ of 123. He appeared to be the Cards shortstop of the future, but his production was never the same again. Last year, DeJong started to pop again and in 81 games with St. Louis he hit 13 home runs and slashed .233/.297/.412 for a wRC+ of 94 (his best wRC+ since 2018) before being dealt to Toronto prior to the trade deadline.

2024 Outlook: With the White Sox moving on from Tim Anderson they signed DeJong to a one-year deal to bridge the gap to prospect Colson Montgomery. DeJong fits the bill but how much is really left in the tank?
