OF Nate Schierholtz has been suspended 80 games for PED violation.
Former Giants outfielder Nate Schierholtz, an East Bay product who was part of the 2010 and 2012 World Series championship teams, has been suspended 80 games by Major League Baseball for violating it’s policy against using performance enhancing drugs. Schierholtz his a minor league free agent who has not played in the majors since 2014, with the Nationals. The San Ramon Valley High alum was drafted and developed by the Giants, who traded him to Philadelphia as part of the Hunter Pence deal. Aug 05 3:05 pm (EST)
