Buschmann, who signed with the Jays in early March, will begin the 2017 season at Triple-A Buffalo, Jays Journal reports.
The Missouri native was a standout at Vanderbilt from 2003 through 2006. While in college, Buschmann went 20-9 with a 3.49 ERA before being drafted by the Padres in the 15th round of the 2006 draft. Since then, the right-hander has appeared in 307 minor league games for a bevy of organizations while managing a 4.20 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. Impressively, he's had 1189 strikeouts, the most among active pictures within the minor leagues. Barring a series of injuries to Jays relievers, it's highly unlikely Buschmann will make an impact at the major-league level this year. Apr 03 10:50 am (EST)
