Yankees acquired Albert Abreu and Jorge Guzman from the Astros.
Both are young, projectable righties for the Yankees who are capable of boosting their lacking pitching depth in the farm system with this trade. Abreu is a 21-year-old 6'2" righty starter who can touch 99 with the heat but sits mostly 93-96 and has an "above average" changeup according to scouts. Some give him a chance to be a frontline starter with refined mechanics, but that is a few years away yet as he hasn't pitched higher than high-A ball in the Astros organization. Guzman can touch 102-103 with the fastball but his stuff is better at 97-99 according to those who have seen him pitch. He is a 6'0" 20-year-old righty who could go either to starter or bullpen depending on his control and pitch development but he hasn't been passed short-season A-ball yet. Nov 17 5:37 pm (EST)
