David Freese returned to the Angels' starting lineup on Tuesday.

Freese has been dealing with a quad injury lately so he received another day off Monday but came in off the bench. He'll start Tuesday and continue to try and hold off Ian Stewart for playing time at the hot corner. He'll have to start bringing up that .140 average fast though if he wants to stay ahead of the game.

David Freese is not in the Angels' starting lineup on Monday.

Freese has been colder than ice cold this season. It is hard to make an argument of why he should be rostered in fantasy leagues, but I will try anyways. He is in a good lineup and will continue to get at-bats.

David Freese went hitless in three at-bats in his return to the lineup Sunday as the Angels lost their second straight game to the Tigers after having won 10 straight previously.

Freese missed the first two games of the series with the Tigers due to tight right quadricep. Freese his hitless in his last two games (0-for-9) lowering his average this season to .143 with an on-base percentage almost as bad at .197 which is second worst among all third baseman in the major leagues behind only Brett Lawrie's .182 OBP. Between his poor play and injury history you are better off looking for a replacement of the waiver wire. Three players that may be available who would be an upgrade include Tigers Nick Castellanos, White Sox Connor Gillaspie or even Dodgers Juan Uribe.

David Freese has returned to the Angels starting lineup on Sunday.

Freese had stayed out the last two games with a tweaked hamstring, but is apparently feeling well enough to return. Keep a close watch on him as a return too soon will result in his losing way more time then. Should he have rushed back to keep Ian Stewart somewhat at bay, he could be risking a whole lot here.

Update: David Freese got treatment today and feels good. He is aiming to play tomorrow and will be available off the bench today.

Just check in with the lineups Sunday morning to be sure he is actually playing. While Freese says that he feels good now, things can obviously change throughout the day. There's also the possibility that Ian Stewart continues to play well and manager Mike Scioscia opts to keep the hot bat in the lineup.

David Freese (hamstring) is not in the Angels starting lineup on Saturday.

This was expected as Freese was a late scratch Friday. The Angels are calling him day-to-day and will likely evaluate him again over the weekend, but for now Ian Stewart will man the hot corner for the Halos. Freese owners may want to take notice of the fact that Stewart is 5-for-10 with a home run, four RBI and three runs scored over his last three games and was considered a solid power-prospect when he played for Colorado. He struggled with his plate discipline and ended up with the Cubs and now the Angels. Should things have clicked for him, Freese could be in trouble if he misses too much time.

Update: David Freese said he injured his hamstring during his last at-bat on Wednesday and isn't sure if he'll start on Saturday.

Freese's injury was originally reported as a quad injury but if it's a hamstring problem, there's a chance that it could linger even more. He's still being considered day-to-day, but don't be surprised to see Ian Stewart back at the hot corner this weekend.

David Freese has a sore right quad that is not believed to be serious.

Consider Freese to be day-to-day for now but keep an eye on his progress updates. We've seen a number of muscle/hamstring/groin injuries that start out as "not serious" but have resulted in a number of players hitting the DL. Derek Jeter's quad injury held him out of two games while Adrian Beltre's landed him on the disabled list. Check your waiver wire and just be prepared. Ian Stewart will fill in for the time being and could be considered for a little bit of pop if he gets a few consecutive starts.

David Freese has been scratched from the Angels' starting lineup on Friday.

A sore quad puts Freese on the shelf and opens the door a little wider for Ian Stewart who is looking to carve out at least a platoon situation for himself. Hard to see Mike Scioscia doing that given his love for the veterans, but this injury just might help force the isssue.

David Freese is not in the Angels starting lineup on Sunday.

The Angels are hoping to get a lot more out of Freese with Josh Hamilton on the shelf, so giving him a day of rest while he is mired in a three-game 1-for-14 slump is probably the right thing to do. Hopefully it does the trick. Ian Stewart will man the hot corner for the Halos on Sunday.
