David Freese is not in the Angels starting lineup on Sunday.

The Angels are hoping to get a lot more out of Freese with Josh Hamilton on the shelf, so giving him a day of rest while he is mired in a three-game 1-for-14 slump is probably the right thing to do. Hopefully it does the trick. Ian Stewart will man the hot corner for the Halos on Sunday.

David Freese is not in the lineup Monday against the Astros.

Freese is off to just a .182 (4-for-22) start this season with no extra-base hits so he'll get the day off in favor of ian Stewart. He remains the Angels primary third baseman thanks to his glove, but the door could open for Stewart who could possibly have the bigger bat. It's doubtful that manager Mike Scioscia would make the switch, but it's always something to keep in the back of your mind.

David Freese appeared to hurt his hand sliding into home plate. He seems to be ok.

There doesn't seem to be anything with which to be concerned here. Freese remained in the game and doesn't seem fazed by any sort of injury. We just wanted to grab your attention and scare you for a brief second.

David Freese missed Tuesday's game with quad tightness. Manager Mike Scioscia expects him to play Thursday.

Freese is an injury waiting to happen and the fact he moved to an even less friendly hitters' park this off-season you are better off targeting a player in a more favorable situation like Rockies Nolan Arenado or Red Sox Xander Bogaerts.

Angels 3B David Freese was scratched from Tuesday's game vs. Cubs. He appears to have some leg tightness.

Another day, another malady for Freese. Just part of the game with the talented but oft underachieving third sacker.

David Freese (blood blister) still not in the Angels starting lineup on Monday.

David Freese will not play on Sunday due to a blood blister under his foot. He hopes to play on Monday.

The injury is about as minor as you can get, but with Freese, you always have to be cautious. You can probably expect him back early in the week unless he ends up with some sort of infection somehow. We don't want to jinx him, but again, you can't ever be too careful with him.

Angels agree with David Freese on a 1-year deal at $5.05M.

Freese is looking to stay healthy, play 145 games, hit .290 and drive in 80 runs. The power is never going to be there, 20 homers is his ceiling with all the grounders he hits, but Freese can be a moderately effective option at the hot corner.
