A rest day is all this amounts to for the Yankees normal starting catcher as he has been busy behind the plate recently. Austin Romine will get the gig for Tuesday as the Yankees begin a series again divisional foe Toronto.
This shouldn't come as a shock to anyone after he took a 92 MPH fastball off of his face in Monday's game while trying to bunt in the second inning. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he stayed overnight Tuesday night. According to his wife, he is stable and will be okay but will obviously be out for a while. Don't expect him to return once the 15 days are up either as this is a longer term injury than that.
