As we reflect back on the season's first half and enjoy the All-Star break, lets take a look at MLB's minor league elite. A look at Futures Game participants finds half a dozen prospects in AAA- all of them on the US team. While teams can certainly draw from Double-A, three pitchers, a catcher and two outfielder's appear next on the radar.
Five pitchers for you in this week's edition of Farm Report. We have the two young guns that are already on many rosters. A former young gun that once enjoyed near Strasburg hype, a prospect that was roughed up and sent back down and a flame thrower stretching out after not finding success as a closer.
We don't have any "can't miss" prospects debuting of late, but we can share some hurlers that have a shot at contributing for your ball club. Half a dozen arms have been hand picked for your review, including a couple of short men that could end up landing you saves.
Is your pitching staff tired? In need of a shot in the arm? While there are plenty of free agent options, often time it is the rookie find that can turn things around. These five arms should be on your radar and are worthy of your free agent dollars or draft position when they get the call.
Does it seem that an extraordinary amount of pitching has ended up on the disabled list this season? While it sure seems that way, studies show the numbers are actually below the norm. What we do know for sure is that you have an open pitching spot on your roster or will have one open up sometime this week.
