Nate Miller
Taijuan Walker (R) Headshot

Walker was reinstated from the paternity list prior to Sunday's game.

Walker was scratched from last Thursday's start due to the birth of his son, and now that the three days are up, he will return to the team. He's currently in line to start Tuesday against the Braves.

Cliff Pennington (B) Headshot

Pennington is out of the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox.

Pennington had logged the previous three starts at second base, but that was only because the opposition rolled out left-handed starters in each of those contests. With righty Rick Porcello on the mound for Boston in the series finale, Pennington will give way to Nick Franklin, who is expected to see the bulk of the starts at the keystone on the strong side of a platoon.
2:22 pm (EST)
Albert Pujols (R) Headshot

Pujols is out of the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox.

It looks like Pujols is simply receiving a maintenance day following his three-hit performance in Saturday's win. Pujols, who is hitting .269 since the All-Star break, will give way to Yunel Escobar at designated hitter, while Luis Valbuena covers Escobar's normal spot at third base.
2:19 pm (EST)
Justin Turner (R) Headshot

Turner (illness) is back in the lineup Sunday against the Braves, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Turner is dealing with a bout of bronchitis, but declared himself ready to play prior to Sunday's contest. He's apparently one of several Dodgers that is a bit under the weather at the moment, but will return to the lineup nonetheless to snap a one-game absence.
2:17 pm (EST)
C.J. Cron (R) Headshot

Cron will start at first base and bat fifth Sunday against the Red Sox.

Cron will draw his fourth consecutive start Sunday, and though he's performed respectably with four hits in 12 at-bats over the previous three contests, the run of regular playing time should soon come to an end. The Angels had a spot open in the lineup for Cron the last three games with the Red Sox having deployed a left-handed starting pitcher in each of those contests, resulting in platoon mate Luis Valbuena hitting the bench. Valbuena is back in the lineup Sunday, but he'll play third while Cron covers first base due to Albert Pujols receiving a routine day off for rest.
2:17 pm (EST)
Jayson Werth (R) Headshot

Werth (toe/foot) was transferred to the 60-day DL on Sunday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports.

Werth has been out since June 3 due to a toe injury and foot fracture, and this move is merely procedural -- it doesn't change his timetable at all. Instead, it will open up a spot on the 40-man roster for the Nationals to call up some outfield depth. Werth will now be eligible to return in the first week of August.
2:10 pm (EST)
Brock Holt (L) Headshot

Holt will start at second base and bat eighth Sunday against the Angels, Scott Lauber of ESPN.com reports.

Holt is batting just .200 since returning from the disabled list July 16 following a lengthy absence due to symptoms of vertigo, but the Red Sox seem content to stick with him in an everyday role until the front office is able to swing a trade for a third baseman. The Red Sox had started Holt at the hot corner in each of the previous five games, but he'll move over to second base Sunday with Dustin Pedroia nursing a sore knee.
2:08 pm (EST)
Ryan Raburn (R) Headshot

Raburn was placed on the bereavement list prior to Sunday's game, Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports.

Raburn will be away from the team for a few days to attend to a loss in the family. In the meantime, Andrew Stevenson will get the call from Triple-A to provide outfield depth.
2:05 pm (EST)
Dustin Pedroia (R) Headshot

Pedroia is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels due to a sore knee, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.

The knee issue has been an ongoing concern for Pedroia, who has missed games due to the injury every month this season after first hurting himself in a collision with the Orioles' Manny Machado in an April 21 game. The Red Sox haven't indicated that Pedroia will require a trip to the disabled list as a result of the injury, but Mastrodonato notes that the team will likely recall an extra infielder from the minors ahead of Monday's series opener in Seattle in anticipation of a potential multi-game absence for the former American League MVP.
2:04 pm (EST)
Chris Heisey (R) Headshot

Heisey (groin) was placed on the 10-day DL on Sunday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports.

Heisey suffered the injury attempting to leg out a triple in Saturday's game, and reports surfaced Sunday morning that the injury would land him on the disabled list. The Nationals followed through with that move, calling up Andrew Stevenson in a corresponding move to maintain depth in the outfield.
