Latest Update Yasiel Puig cranks 32nd double Sat Aug, 16, 07:35 AM
Displays great raw power, thanks to a solid build and good athleticism. Also has a great throwing arm, which makes him a natural fit for right field.
Flaws: : Has trouble with breaking pitches and off-speed stuff, so he needs to work on plate discipline and patience in order to maximize potential.
Puig now has back-to-back three-hit games and is slashing an impressive .315/.398/.523 on the year. He is in a bit of a power production drought however, as he hasn't homered yet in August, a span of 14 games, and has just four RBI and six runs scored for the month. He could power up at any moment, so it's obviously best to just leave him active, but you're going to have to suffer through the valleys while you wait to his your peaks.Analyst: Howard Bender
Puig is hitting just .244 in the month of August but absolutely tore up July with a .351 average 17 runs, two home runs and 10 RBI.Analyst: Jonathan Impemba
Puig also drew walk in the 8th inning off Julio Teheran, and came around to score on a Matt Kemp double. He was hitless in his previous two games, and was given Sunday off after dealing with hamstring tightness over the last few weeks. The Dodgers have a well-publicized overflow of outfielders trickling all the way down to the minor leagues, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Puig get more days off down the stretch if the hamstring continues to be an issue.Analyst: Spencer Silva
Puig might be experiencing his second-half slow-down again as he's just 7-for-32 (.219) for the month of August. He'll get a day off to rest and hopefully gather himself back up so that he can be a productive component for the Dodgers playoff run.Analyst: Howard Bender
