Latest Update Manager Fredi Gonzalez says it’s not a strict lefty-righty platoon at second base with rookies Tommy La Stella and Phil Gosselin Fri Aug, 22, 07:50 PM
Is a good hitter who makes consistent contact and limits his strikeouts in impressive fashion. Also draws some walks and plays solid defense at second base.
Flaws: : Doesn't have much power to speak of. Also, he doesn't steal a lot of bases, so his offensive impact is minimal (especially at the big-league level).
Gonzalez is likely just sticking with the hot Gosselin at the moment, who is 7-for-23 over his last seven games. Once Gosselin experiences a slow down, La Stella will likely begin to receive the bulk of playing time if he can produce. While neither are a great option in fantasy, La Stella is likely the one to own in the long term, though he won't be much of a help at the moment. Analyst: Ben Diamond
La Stella has just one hit in his last 18 at-bats which is why he is sitting for the fourth time in six games. Phil Gosselin, who is 7-for-23 (.304) over his last seven games, will get the start at second base on Thursday.Analyst: Howard Bender
Phil Gosselin starts at second base as La Stella tries to work his way out of a 1-for-17 slump. This is just a day off to let La Stella get his head together and not a permanent move.Analyst: Ivar G. Anderson
As the Braves chase the Nationals in the NL East, they need all hands on deck and getting La Stella back improves their lineup even if he doesn't provide any power or speed.Analyst: Ivar G. Anderson
