Latest Update No decision for Buchanan in Phillies loss Thu Sep, 25, 10:15 PM
Is pretty good at throwing strikes repeatedly, and is at his best when inducing plenty of groundball outs. Has good size for a big-league pitcher.
Flaws: : His stuff is not overpowering, even at lower levels, so he has a tendency to get hit harder than he should for the highest level of baseball.
Buchanan didn't have a great outing to end his season, but he didn't get bombed either. The rookie made 20 starts and posted a 3.75 ERA. He should be able to lock up a spot in the Phillies rotation next spring without a hiccup.Analyst: David Kerr
Buchanan is now 6-8 with a 3.77 RA and 1.27 WHIP in his first season in the big leagues, which is respectable for a player at the age of 25. Although he does not hold a dominant arsenal, Buchanan makes for a nice middle-of-the-rotation pitcher of the future for his franchise as the team look more to next season after a disappointing year. He will look to finish his season on a high note when he takes on the Marlins on Thursday. Analyst: Matthew Beck
Buchanan was his usual average self on Tuesday night, but kept the Phillies in a game that they ultimately won. His next start will be against the Marlins at home on Saturday.Analyst: David Kerr
Buchanan only made it through four innings on his Wednesday start. Although he allowed four runs, only one was earned, but he did walk four batters. He required 87 pitches to get through four innings. He fared much better in his last start, and he will hope to get back on track in his next start. Buchanan should remain on the waiver wire in your league.Analyst: Colby Conway
