Latest Update Solarte has returned to the Padres' starting lineup on Saturday Sat Aug, 16, 04:26 PM
Is a natural hitter with very good bat speed and plate protection. Is also quite versatile in the field, which adds to his overall value at the big-league level.
Flaws: : Needs to find his big-league niche, especially defensively. Doesn't have great power, nor is he much of a speed threat (so his impact on offense is limited).
The mild oblique strain that kept him out of the past two games appears to be in the past. He should see regular time in the lineup going forward.Analyst: Ivar G. Anderson
The oblique strain wasn't severe enough to land Solarte on the DL, so a few days off should do him just fine here. It's only been a day, so maybe look for him to return at some point over the weekend.Analyst: Howard Bender
Solarte was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a walk before exiting the game early with the oblique issue. Obviously, Solarte is going to downplay the injury but we've seen an oblique injury take out a player for much more than just the couple of days Solarte is probably giving himself here. Consider him day-to-day but expect the Padres to play it safe with him.Analyst: Howard Bender
Although the injury is considered mild, there is still a good chance Solarte could be headed to the disabled list once we see where he stands in a few days. Expect to see Alexi Amarista take over for him in the starting lineup until he is healthy enough to return to action. Analyst: Matthew Beck
